Miner TW unsettling imagery, miner mention of de@th and organs. Nothing graphic I promise! Nothing worse then a Grimm fairy tale! The forest was something that most people ignored. It was like the forests you would see on some teenager girls Pinterest board. Or on TikTok under many different aesthetics hashtags. But the truth was this forest wasn’t a place to take pretty photos or videos to post on the internet. This forest was alive and hungry. To some that might just sound like a normal forest, all forests were technically alive with the wildlife and plants that made the boring dirt and stone on the ground come alive. But this forest was alive in the sense that it could feel. It could feel the animals and insects that inhabited it. Could feel the humans as they slowly built closer and closer. Could feel the way the humans dug up stones from the ground that had been there for decades just to toss them away like they did their promises. To say the forest hated humans was an understatement, it despises them so much the forest learned to move simply to swallow the human's whole. The ground would open up and cover any human that ever came to the forest in dirt and stone and fury just to settle and leave no sign that anything had happened. After years and years of human going missing after entering the forest, they finally decided that it was not worth losing anymore of them. So, humans made it law, no one would enter the forest, and no one would speak of the forest. The forest was happy that the humans had finally learned that they were not welcomed. The forest could finally have some peace. But, after years ‘peace’ had become lonely. Sure, the forest had the plants, animals and insects to keep it company but simply was not enough. Next page :)
The forest decided that it would create a human in its own image. What the forest thought a human should be not the humans that already walked this earth and destroyed everything in their wake. No, this human would be mindful and kind but also strong and intelligent. Someone who could stand up for themselves and others. This human would always know right from wrong. So, the forest started to peace together this perfect human of its design. This human was made of ash and shadows. Their bones made of branches; their organs stuffed with dirt so they would never feel hunger or thirst, and finally their heart was stuffed with cotton so they could only feel selfless and never any emotion of their own. The forest covered the human in clay to protect in fragile inner workings. They were small and so very fragile. The forest feared that the small human would brake under the forest care, as it was not known for being gentle. The forest did not want to give the…child…? up. Child was what the human called other small humans right? And the forest new they were just as fragile as this one, yet they survived and grew to be strong. The forest wanted that for this child…it’s child. The forest new that the only way for its child to grow and become the person that it wanted them to be it had to let the child go. The forest had someone in mind to take its child. A young woman who had been coming to the edge of the forest and sitting for hour’s drawing what she could see of the forest. Her presence was known but unlike most humans it was not unpleasant. She was very gentle with the forest never disturbed it. The forest had grown found of the women and new she would take care of its child. So, the forest made a makeshift basket and gently set the child inside. Then with the help of some of the gentler wildlife, took the basket to the edge of the forest where the woman always sat and waited for her to arrive. She came like always did but once she saw the little baby in a basket her whole demeanor changed. From soft and calm to panic, she looked around for any signs of someone who could have possibly left this child here. But there were no sighs that anyone had been there. The little boy she came to find out seemed fine, resting comfortably in his basket. The woman noticed when looking him over that the little boy had something clenched in his chubby fits. Gently prying open his fits the woman saw that he was holding a singular piece of Sage. Sage, that was the boys name the woman didn’t know how she new, she just felt it. It almost felt like someone had told her. She also felt that this child was hers, well not hers exactly but he was hers to take care of for the time being. The woman didn’t understand why she knew these things and later and her life she would wonder how she knew anything. But in the moment, it just felt as someone had told her but no one was there. It was just a voice in her head answering her questions the voice was definitely not her own. The voice had told her this child was hers but not forever just for a few years, so she took him home. The woman who the forest later learned name was Rylie could never have children of her own. She was married to a soldier who was away but would be coming back in a month. She was extremely grateful for who ever gave her the little boy as she always dreamed of being a mother. Rylie had no idea what she had in store. That one day in the future she would be fighting for her child life and also his freedom. No, she knew nothing she just thought God had finally answered her prayers. But it was God who answered it was the Devil. Picture for google
