Somehow that means a lot to me, as a math teacher, because my own son was also born on March 14th. So therefore, I am a fanatic about Pi Day. I've made other Scratch projects about Pi including my profile project which is a song titled "Pi is the Ratio of Circumference to Diameter for Every Single Circle in the Universe". Please enjoy the project and Happy Pi Day, especially if it is your birthday too!!!
Hit the 'p' key on your keyboard for a special disclaimer about this project. I am Mr. May. I am a math teacher at Pilgrim High School, in Warwick, Rhode Island, USA. We have held a 3.14 shooting contest at our school every year on or around Pi Day, since 2019. I created this project to help promote the event so that all the students were aware of it and would want to either participate or watch. The students also can create a Pi project of any type. We are the first school anywhere to have this Pi Day 3.14 shooting event. The students get 31.4 seconds to shoot as many 3 point one four shots as possible. There is a girl's contest, a boy's contest, and a staff contest. So far, after 5 years the school record is 9 three-point-one-four shots in 31.4 seconds. It is a very fun event held during the 3rd and 4th lunches. The gymnasium fills up and it is as exciting as any other sporting event the school has. This project used PI - a special form of AI - to create the voices of Albert Einstein and Steph Curry. I was able to create the AI conversation between Albert Einstein and Steph Curry by using the website soundboards.com Hit the 'm' key for general credits and a special message.
