Beatrix asked her if she made contact with Noah, and Uchiyama shook her head. She realized that he was absent, his seat empty. She looked at Beatrix and said, “Where IS Noah anyway? He is absent.” “He probably got sick. But thanks for pointing that out! I will call him later and check on him!” Beatrix said, blushing and clutching her phone. Oh. Beatrix likes him… At that moment, Noah slammed open the door, clutching a drenched Naruto umbrella, and toast with grape jelly was in his mouth. “I’m so sorry that I’m late!!” He cried, holding the toast,“I overslept!” After that, a boy named Brad, the “class clown,” smirked and said, “Now that’s what I call ‘breakfast on the go!’” The whole class burst into laughter. They started, and Uchiyama put her head down, and waited for it to be over. She sighed because no one tapped her, but then she felt it. Someone tapped her. “Heads Up, Seven Up!” Uchiyama stood up. Beatrix went up too. She waited for everyone else’s turn to be over. “Jonathan,” “Uh, Sophia?” “Nope!” Then came her turn. She took a deep breath, then said “Noah?” “Aw, you got me.” Beatrix was beet red with jealousy and fury. She asked again if Uchiyama made contact with him, and she just denied it. Uchiyama went up, and proudly said “Heads down, thumbs up!” Uchiyama wondered who to pick, so she just picked a girl with red hair. She inched back to the front, so no one would hear her footsteps. “Angie?” Ms. Sullivan asked.
