Out of Place Machinery moved about and the whir of devices filled the air. This place was dark, dank, and dreary. Any light cast from the golden sun would be choked out by the thick, black smoke; which was being sent up in billowing clouds from tall smokestacks standing atop depressing factories. Cars crowded the little room upon the dirty streets. A single flower that had begun to sprout from a small crack in the sidewalk has become trampled by the unobservant commuter. The delicate petals had just began to unfurl and the dew was gently dripping of what remained of this little, golden beauty. A row of houses sit against each other row after row. These cookie-cutter houses are the same from the chimney to the windows to the garden out front. A single carefully rounded bush and a set of pavers laid out upon the grass. The grass was not a natural green but was almost gray as if the life was just sucked out of it. As morning began, child after child was woken up by their mother's, dressed in the gray uniforms of their school, and shuffled out the door to begin the walk to their school. The school was square and had no room for imagination. Classroom after classroom was packed full of kids in the same outfit, the same haircut, all working on the same worksheet. This was truly a depressing place. One of these children was named Alex. Alex was lead to believe that this was the best and only way to live, just as other was taught. But Alex was different. He had a fire inside of him telling him this wasn't right that there had to be a better way to live. He tried to fight this, he tried to ignore and continue this mundane routine. He just felt off. He felt out of order. He told his mom and dad but he was ignored and told to suppress this feeling so he did. For as long as he could but, it didn't take long for this fire to grow even stronger. He had to let it out. Thank You for reading! if this gets enough views and likes I may make a part 2.
