should sonic be in a relationship? depends on which sonic, if you're thinking classic then no but other than that yes sega is aging up the characters (in terms of maturity) so i think it's a good idea for sonic to be less averse to relationships, especially when it's confirmed that sonic has mutual feelings for amy. now you're going to say "but sonic aways runs from amy!!!" well you know that butterfly feeling you get when you get a crush? sonic probably runs to clear his head (people cope differently and sonic pretty much always runs to solve his problems). also, to add on the whole maturing thing, you can tell that sonic doesn't run from amy anymore because of what amy said in the first idw issues (btw the idw comics are confirmed to be canon to the video game universe <3) to paraphrase it, she basically says that she likes sonic's love for freedom and never wants to change that about it. it could be that sonic thinks that a relationship will tie him down. i did see in one of the remixes that sonic won't have time for relationships/it will slow him down and tbh, not really. amy has always proven that she can keep up with sonic and fun fact, those rings she wears are actually weights (not limiters like shadow's) she uses for training and she has them on her legs too. the fact that she can still run normally with the rings scare me lmao, imagine her power without her rings, she'll literally be unstoppable. but anyways i strongly believe sonic and amy are a power couple, amy is always in touch with her feelings while sonic typically holds back (he's not even allowed to cry) but yk they're also pink and blue so.......
