SAA-1 is a type of half-dead creature from the new class of lifeforms "Vira". It has an interesting and complex life cycle. It starts by infecting a stray Lima - and waiting for predation. In this state, it can survive dormant for weeks. If a predator is found. the Vira will cling onto it, using the predator's movement to randomly change position. Once it finds the hole created by the spike it uses, it will climb into it - now in a heroic sacrifice injecting the genetic material into the predator's body. After this, it will hijack the system and modify the Lima's genes - forcing it to produce copies of the SAA. At the end of the life cycle, it is then instructed to create digestive enzymes, as the predator simply bursts due to pressure. In this process, the "father" vira unfortunately cannot survive.
