The final update of Goomble Gurt 2 has now released and with it the main story of Candleworld has concluded so i think this is also a good time though! these are very disorganised thoughts and thanks that i really should have probably said separately and earlier oops I remember the beginning of 2022 when Krazvalt’s account opened and I watched as one by one a series of short but very interesting projects were shared, and I remember the period of days in which I checked their profile hourly anxiously awaiting the result of the conflict there. I remember 13 year old me trying to make sense of everything and becoming enraptured in the world you created. I remember the uneasiness of Kraz's return and the unexpectedness of Comment Adventures II just. appearing the fish .instantly became my favourite character it is a fish but so scrunklo how how do they do it i do not know they just a silly guy gender neutral they just a fish After some time of just observing I began researching everything I could. I scoured the profiles of Xyliss and Kraz and started making progress on the first version of derivative layers at school, my friend suggesting to add a hover feature for the images of the cores. By the time that Blue's account had opened I had generally accepted that I wasn't very good at the interaction aspect of the ARG and after learning of the. Mildly horrific implications of controlling a pilgrim I decided to try and approach Blue to trade for the knowledge on how to fully and completely disconnect myself from it this did not go as planned i think i'm glad it didn't though. I was immediately filled with sheer panic as I saw Blue's icon change and as I quickly scrambled to think of what to do he had already began tearing open portals to different entities. the following weeks were really fun! I enjoyed playing my part as the dandelion and watching things unfold was incredibly cool if not somewhat terrifying especially when desperately trying to pull back on Blue's aetus as he prepared to fight Xyliss as time continued without knowing the results of the battle I weighed the possibilities in my mind and found myself reassured in the fact that Xyliss was too plot relevant to lose which was then immediately proven wrong the following day as i woke up to being rushed out of space-lite and the news that Xyliss was fully gone and i crie d . The Marquess invading Vox space made my anxiety flare beyond anything ever and i will never forgive you for it grr The period following the end of comment adventures III was surreal to be active during. The community and amount of fanworks grew in number and it was truly magical to witness that. Every Comment Adventures update grew into more and more of a spectacle and as the stakes grew during the main story, peaceful and fun fan-communities started sprouting up all around the sides The ending to Comment Adventures IV was perfect to me. The arg came to a head with the rest of the plot and the sum of everything being revealed alongside the growing conclusiveness of the panels and even the accompanying music made it feel like everything was slotting together Even if it wasn't a physical 'ending', the abstract retaking everything gave a warm and bittersweet sense of closure. The world itself felt like it was saying goodbye and just before it drifted away we got to talk with every entity discovered over the past two years for one last time. There was a lot happening irl at the time and everything in candleworld really helped me through that i think im also eternally impressed by how this isn't something that could have existed on any other platform. You made scratch into your genre and utilised every facet of how the website worked to not only use as a base for the arg to be built on but integrated this into its story and world as well It's truly been a pleasure experiencing everything you've created over the past four years. this has meant more to me than these words could ever describe. Candleworld has positively impacted so many people and i am incredibly happy to have been one of them!
