A knife was in her hand, soaked in blood. Cal was dead on the ground in front of her. Halo stepped back, dropping the knife and covering her mouth with her hands. “Oh my gosh,” she breathed. She tasted blood. 'Told you.' “Go away!” Halo yelled, clutching her head. “What do you want with me!?” 'Hm. I apologize. I never introduced myself.' 'Pleasure to meet you, Halo. I’m Abraxas.' “Wh-what did you do?” Halo whispered. 'Did your job for you. You’re an Imposter, are you not?' “N-No! I’m a crewmate!” Halo exclaimed. '...Ah. Amnesia, huh? Here. I’ll fix that for you.' All of a sudden, a rush of memories flooded into Halo’s head, making her feel dizzy. Blood. Death. Sharp teeth. Screaming. Satisfaction. Glee. Hunger. Halo gasped. She stepped back again in shock. “I... I really am...?” 'You’re welcome.' “No... no no no no... what will Liam think...?” Halo said, starting to panic. 'Are you SERIOUSLY worried about that insignificant little crewmate!?' “He’s not insignificant! He’s my friend!” Halo shouted. 'Mmmhmm. Anyways, you should probably get out of here. Before you’re found.' Halo blinked. Oh yeah. If she was an Imposter and was found next to the body... 'Maybe I can just talk to Liam about this,' Halo thought. 'He’ll understand. He’ll help me.' 'Something tells me he won’t.' “Just shut up!” Halo growled. Woah. She blinked. 'Fine.' The voice went quiet. Halo sighed in relief. She made sure there was no blood on her before she reported the body. 'SERIOUSLY!?' 'I SAID SHUT UP.' Halo quickly walked to the meeting area in the Office. The crew gathered around the table, looking shocked and frightened. “Already?” Halo heard someone whisper. “We just got here!” Halo looked over to see Roy chatting with Yoel. Liam sat next to Halo, shaking. He looked at her, fear evident in his eyes. Halo felt guilt starting to overwhelm her. What would she tell him? In fact, what would she tell the crew? “Halo,” Captain White said. Halo turned to look at him. “You reported the body. Where did you find it?” “...C-Cal... Liam and I heard a crash...” Halo stuttered, trying to think of something to say. She wiped her eyes, trying to make it look like she was crying. “...I-I heard a growling noise... a-and when I turned the corner... h-he was dead.” Hopefully that worked. Halo saw that the crew looked convinced and felt a little bit of relief. “Did you see who did it?” Roy asked. “She would have told us if she did!” Yoel said. “I’m just ASKING okay!?” Roy retorted. “Honestly, I think she’s a little suspicious!” “You find everyone suspicious,” Yoel sighed, “Well it might save us!” Roy shouted back. “ROY,” White said, then took a deep breath. “...please. Stop interrupting.” Roy muttered something and glared at Yoel before crossing his arms and sitting back. White narrowed his eye at him before straightening himself out and turning his attention back to the task at hand. “I-I didn’t see anyone...” Halo said, hoping to calm Roy. “Alright then. Where was everyone?” White asked, eyeing Halo. She shifted a bit, trying not to show her nervousness. Her head began aching again. Everyone gave their locations when the body was reported and argued back and forth about who it could be. After several minutes, they decided to skip. Halo rushed out to the hallway after the meeting, and Lime followed her. “Halo... I’m sorry you witnessed that...” Liam said, taking deep breaths to calm himself down. Halo didn’t respond. They stood there in silence for a few moments before Halo worked up a bit of courage. “...Liam...?” Halo said. “Yes?” Liam responded. Halo’s throat went dry. “U-um... never mind,” she said. She felt the pain in her head spike and winced. “Oh,” Liam said, looking a little confused. “...are you-” “Uh, I have a task in O2!” Halo blurted out, taking off down the hallway. “Wait! Do you want me to come with you?” Liam shouted after her. Halo barely heard him. She just kept running. She didn’t notice White watching them.
