...i tried o7 it's almost been a full year since i last used my finger to draw... good grief how do phone artists even manage it (says the person who started out as a phone artist) askldfjsdf i'm so spoiled i apologise for the line width in some pics, i forgot about scratch's compression thing ;-; also terrible handwriting due to lack of stylus, the first half of the images especially tis true, i hath suffered :thumbsup: ---- so hmm i'm not sure where to put this but if i win the design, you BET i'm going to use them B) i have two major worlds at the moment, the first one an in progress warriors fanfic with 30k+ words, the second an original universe with over ten short stories, the beginning of a novel and a novella, and a total of 40k+ words in worldbuilding and character pages. i might not draw that much, but i'm very dedicated to my sillies <3 they plague my brain day and night at the moment i don't have specific plans for this design yet, but i'm literally going to die (okay maybe not literally but you get the point) if i can't manage to find them a place with a spotlight. inserting them into my current original world would be a bit problematic -- it's mostly human based, and while there are shapeshifters, i've already made too many ':) but i got this world concept maybe a week ago that's blossoming in my mind and i'm definitely going to get them in as THE main character if i think the world setting is one i can work with. and by work with, i mean spending 2+ years writing a full-length novel. i've already worked on that warriors fanfic for 1.5 years so i know writing a marathon is something i have the tenacity for :D about the world: i only have the first few concepts so far, but here <3 imagine this magic system where some people are infected with a parasite, say a giant fungus or flower living inside you. if you feed it (consume a specific type of material? i'm thinking a bit like allomancy from mistborn) it will grow stronger and give you ✨ magic powers ✨. as the parasite strengthens, the powers you're able to borrow get more potent, but it also eats you from the inside so you have to keep feeding and feeding and feeding it (even if you don't need the powers anymore) until you run out of the material and you die ...almost like an addiction and it's very very pretty because aesthetics </3 it's a more symbiotic relationship than your typical parasitical magic system, and a lot more poetic since that's the general writing vibes i have. there's a lot more about the worldbuilding that i'm expanding on: the social issues that result, for example, from the parasite magic powers only transmitting through body fluid (essentially marriage and childbearing). as the person ages, the parasite grows on them too. old people, to keep themselves alive, would have to feed the parasite more, spending more money in the process. this could lead to older generations commonly either being criminals or money-hoarders, feared for their unmatched magic potency and thirst for profit and cash. i tend to take the complex approach to worldbuilding and i think about stuff like this a lot :D about the design themself, i'll have to spend some time naming them due to my synaesthesia demanding that i only give character names with the same palette as themselves, but i'm leaning towards her being female at the moment. she's intelligent, extroverted, a bit narcisstic, and has an overconfident outlook in life. she's very much used to being the star student, to the point where she doesn't even notice the fact that her unpopularity in class is because she's basically the teacher's pet. though she doesn't set out to be mean, she nevertheless sometimes ends up hurting her best friend without realising it. inside, she's just a child desperate for praise </3 she doesn't know what exactly she wants to do, but she would like to achieve something with her life -- if only because it's what her parents and teachers have told her she should do with her talent. To a casual adult, she is a delightful kid; to most of her classmates, it almost feels as if she has a mask on. Her smiles are a bit too desperate, her charm a bit too shallow. she also has a ferver for blueberries and tends to stuff handfuls of the stuff into her mouth all at once :p
