When he made it to the refuge, he saw the uniformed guards standing around all professional. Albert ran through his plan in his head. And his plan B. And C. And can’t forget plan D. He took a deep breath and found a bush to hide behind. When he was sure the guards couldn't see him, he made a weird noise. “FLARPOPLEGGONISHAAAA!” He yelled. He had no idea what that meant, but it definitely alerted the guards. They ran over and Albert lept away before they could see him. While they were searching in the bush for some non-existent rare animal, Albert snuck right into the refuge. He ran down the halls, carefully keeping his steps light and quiet, until he reached Spots cell. “Al…?” Spot said from his bed. Theodor was doing summersalts around the dirt floor. “Spot, hi, have you seen Race?” Albert quickly asked. Then he realized it was probably selfish to be asking about only Race and not the person who's been stuck inside a cell with a little kid. “And if you need me to break you out I can,” He said, a little quieter. Spot stood up and walked over to the bars. “Nah, Al, I've tried already. I haven't seen Race… they dragged him out of here after he went bonkers and nearly killed Snyder.” Panic spread through Albert like wildfire. If he nearly killed Snyder, surely he was doing the same back to him… “Are you sure he didn't go back home?” Spot asked. Albert nodded. “If he were there, I'd know it, trust me.” Spot squinted at him for a moment. “Well, go look for him.” “That's what I was doing-” “Not anymore! You're standing talking to me,” Spot snapped back. Though he'd never admit it, he was worried about Race. Albert sensed something was wrong with Spot and gave him some space. “I'll tell you if I find anything,” As Albert left, Spot willed his heart to slow down. He'll find him, he assured himself. He'll find him and I'll get out and we'll all be hap- “SPOT!” Theo yelled excitedly, interrupting his thoughts. “I’VE FINALLY PERFECTED MY SUMMERSAULT!” Spot looked at the small hard bunk he was supposed to share with Theo and wondered if it was sturdy enough to punch all his anger out. He shrugged. Worth a shot.
