(as you can see i've been playing a lot of Kirby and the forgotten land...) **Long paragraphs incoming** There's a little problem on scratch. The explore page categories (im calling them that idc) are littered with projects that aren't supposed to be in that category. For example, the art page. I'm pretty sure you've already heard of this, but, nonetheless, I think we should draw attention to it so that we can try and stop it. The art page is FULL OF generic platformers and games that just aren't for the art page due to tag spamming (i'll get to that later). You may argue, "Well 2 bad cuz the player and background are a kind of art" like what someone told me once, but no. Let me tell you why that's just not true: 1. The player is usually just a cyclops box, and the game doesn't exactly focus on that. 2. The background, although kinda art, isn't focused on when playing, either. 3. YALL ALREADY HAVE A PAGE GET OFF OURS- Anyway, these are just 3 reasons why. I'm sure other people have more reasons. Another argument could be "Well actually scratch is about coding not art", but you'd be wrong about that, too. Scratch is for many things, and the ST even said that we could post art that includes no code at all. This isn't just happening for the art page, but for most pages. The animations page and music page are like this, too. **So, why does this matter?** This matters because it's pushing away opportunities for actual artists and animators to show what they made. It makes some people (me) feel frustrated when they go to the, for example, animations page to see generic platformers everywhere. **When did it start?** To be honest, I don't think anyone knows when the platform games started taking over. I do remember, though, when the animations page had ACTUAL animations (this was back when i didn't have a scratch account!). **How is this happening, what is contributing to it?** Remember when I said I'll talk about tag spamming later? Well, later means now. Tag spamming is basically when you put a whole lot of tags in your description and/or notes and credits. Did you know it's actually against the scratch guidelines? **How do we stop this?** I don't really know. I think, first of all, we should get platform game makers, and all game makers, really, to stop tag spamming. We /could/ mass report, but DONT. Im pretty sure thats against the guidelines, too. Thanks for reading. If you have any questions, please ask in the comments lol. I doubt anyone will see this, but idrc. (lol) Credit to for this idea, and credit to for the original project that i remixed and i actually dont know why i remixed this why am i here aaaaaa- UPDATE: the original project got deleted/is gone. i probably shouldve archived it...
*idrk why I call them categories, i just didnt know what else to call them. made at 10 pm with no malicious intent :)
