Click flag, then adjust the sliders to your liking. Click the clef symbol to change clefs. Answer the prompts by pressing enter. To play, write the names of ALL the notes in the box before you hit enter. Capitalized or uncapitalized are both OK, but don't add spaces between notes. SLIDER INSTRUCTIONS: The "range" sliders affect what notes you may be asked about. A minimum range of 0 includes notes up to two ledger lines below the scale. A maximum range of 17 includes notes up to 2 ledger lines above the scale. A scale of 2 is of maximal size, ideal for Scratch in fullscreen on a desktop or laptop computer. A scale of 1 is half that size, to fit inside the preview window or to possibly facilitate use on mobile.
This project is designed for those who are already somewhat familiar with sheet music, but want to significantly improve their sight-reading speed, especially in unfamiliar clefs. While this program does not provide basic instruction for a total novice, it is useful for those whose familiarity with sight reading ranges from remembering that the spaces of the treble clef spell "FACE" all the way up to virtuosos hoping to brush up on their ledger lines. Musical assets were pulled from the public domain (published on Wikipedia by CH1920, SpecialT, and Popadius). All else is hand-drawn or else rendered with Scratch's built-in pen. Sounds were borrowed from Ocarina of Time. VERY RARELY, there is a bug causing notes to render differently from how they appear in the list, especially in Turbo mode. If this happens, you should use the skip button in the top right. This is just due to inaccuracies in Scratch and unfortunately cannot be resolved.
