Aqua was playing flame-ball on a hill outside the palace with her brother, Lava. His ruby scales glowed in the warm sunshine as he swiftly dodged the ball, caught it, and threw it at her. As she quickly glanced towards the palace, she saw two dragons running along the path towards the palace gate. One of the dragons was dark green and the other was light blue. “That looks like Emerald and Sky!” she thought and turned back to the game just in time to catch the ball in her talons and throw it back to Lava. Her father, King Crimson, had sent them to guard the Glow-Flower this morning. As she wondered why they were back so soon, she realized something must be wrong. They were half flapping, half scrambling up to the palace gate with panicked expressions. Forgetting their game, she stared at them worriedly. The ball whizzed past her ear, and she hurried to balance herself, her blue-green tail waving in the air. “I almost got you that time!” Lava squealed, eyes shining with delight. Aqua turned and ran up to her brother. “You almost did! I think we should go and see what’s wrong, though.”, she said. “Look at the guards!” she exclaimed, watching as they barreled through the gate, paying no attention to the startled exclamations from the guards stationed there. Aqua and her brother snatched the ball and hastily glided down the hill to the gate. She watched the palace guards blocking the door into the palace and saw their shocked expressions as the guards quickly explained why they were there. She heard one of the guards blurt out, “Why would anyone do that!?” before they urgently ushered the other guards inside to see her father and mother, King Crimson and Queen Cyan.
