I included a closeup and a version with and without lightning effects :) Fullscreen might be best to see the details. ============ ↓ Art process below ↓ ============ #1: Lightning version (saturated) #2: No lightning, less saturated #3: Closeup #4: Sketch and color ideas (very wonky lol) #5: Lineart! and aggressive watermark (Realized too late it said he had long sleeves, but I also I took some creative liberty and incorporated both the normal outfit and the alternate :D) I hope I didn’t make too many changes #6: Base colors + a little of ground #7: Forgot to save pictures of the background progress so there's a big jump here. Opaque watercolor for most of it + pen #8: Added shading with opaque watercolor, textured gauze brush, flat marker, and airbrush. I also added more detail to the background like grass and some lighting. On a higher layer I added some strands of light hair with solid pen and colored the lineart. #9: Dust particles & some texture in the background #10: Final glow dodge lightning effects, and chromatic aberration (finished!) Notes: DTIYSE stands for Draw This In Your Style Entry Backstory idea: Since he's aviator themed, perhaps he was driving a plane that crashed into an alternate fantasy world dimension and he now has lightning powers as a result. His plane crashed into a forest, so now he's trying to survive there until he can fix his plane. In his time there, he's found an animal companion that he spends time with as he figures out his new surroundings. I wanted to draw his pet but can't draw animals so I gave up :") For the background, I imagined that he's in a lush and vibrant nature-based world and he's going to go into the cave to explore or something with his (offscreen) pet lol. I hope I did your character justice :) Brushes Used: Opaque Watercolor, Flat Marker, Airbrush, Droplet Brush, Realistic Watercolor, Custom Brushes (Textured pen, lightning brush)
