I am losing my faith... Furries are commonly misunderstood so if you are just now learning about them, this is a great place to be! A. Common misconceptions 1. "Furries think they are animals" This is very common because furries dress up like animals. However, this is a mix-up with Therians, who believe they are/were (part) animals. 2. "Furries like-like animals" This is a mix-up with Zoophiles, who are horrible creatures who think they can defy nature. 3. "Furries will go to h*ll" This Is wrong because NOTHING in the bible is against people who like lifelike creatures or dressing up like them. Also, Atheists like myself don't believe in a h*ll. 4. "Furries only get together to have seggs" THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!! FURRIES GET TOGETHER TO HAVE A SENSE OF SELF-BELONGING! (also, those are murrsuiters) 5. "All furries are LGBTQIA+" This is common because although most people in the furry subculture are LGBTQ, not all of them are. Dressing up as something has nothing to do with gender. An anime convention cosplayer is almost the exact same as a furry cosplayer. B. Commonly asked questions 1. "How do furries make money?" Being a furry is not a job! It's a hobby, and they all have different side jobs besides being a YouTube. Some are animal biologists. 2. "What are furries?" People who like lifelike creatures. 3. "Why do furries say uwu/owo/7w7?" Either for a guy to seem nonthreatening or as a friendly greeting. 4. "Why do furries become furries?" Various reasons such as showing affection for certain things. 5. "How / When do furries get their costumes?" By buying them from fursuit creators, or by making them by themselves. (cost = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$) 6. "What does 'anthropomorphic' mean?" Lifelike/with human characteristics. 7. "How do I tell my friends/parents that I am a furry?" You don't need to! You don't need to tell your friend what your hobbies are. They should just like you for who you are, and if they don't, then it's time for a new friend C. Why do they get hated? 1. Furries are hated so much because of all of the assumptions and stereotypes and getting mixed up with therians and zoophiles. 2. Because they are misunderstood 3.
