On February 7th, a 16 year old nonbinary student named Nex Benedict was beat by three bullies in a school bathroom, because of their pronouns and the way they were dressed. The next day, Nex was rushed to the hospital because he had trouble breathing, where they died later that day. I am hosting an art collab in tribute to Nex, and to raise awareness about the brutality that LGBTQ+ youth faces in schools. I would love for as many people as possible to join. You do not have to be an experienced artist, and your art can be in any medium. Your entry must be a remix, if it is not it will not be added :) Let me know if you would like to join in the comments. The deadline will be 3rd of April :). Extensions are available, so if you think you will need one, please lmk. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments, or on my profile. The art in the project is two (unfinished) sketches I have made of Nex. If I really like your art, I might put it as the thumbnail for the collab, so if you want, you can make a thumbnail version of your art as well. Sorry the writing in this is kinda weird and a bit broken, it's hard for me to write about stuff like this. Edit: March 12 the project got taken down, for a reason i will not be disclosing, but i messaged the scratch team and it has been put back up! because of this, if you need an extension, id be happy to give you one, but for now the due date is still the 3rd of April
Update: 27/03/24 Hey everyone, there is now one week until the deadline, April 3rd. This means that extensions are now open, please reply to my comment that has the form in it to apply for an extension. I will not be accepting new people to join after 11:59 April 5th, and anyone who joins between april 3rd and 5th will have the deadline of 11:59pm April 12th, and will not be able to get an extension beyond that. If you have already joined, you must apply for an extension before 11:59 April 3rd. Please keep in mind all dates and times are in AEDT.
