Yadada ————————————————— Prompt: “You're a jellybean- sweet and unique” - Ember ————————————————— (272 words) The hours of scrolling through social media, double tapping every second post were really getting to her. Of course she heard the daily lectures of ‘Social media: bad yada yada ya”, which was true. Yet, there was also the flip side. The odd post was covered in compliments ranging from slightly more back-handed ones to sincere and serious ones, designed to bring a smile to the face of some. She readjusted herself on her bed, her phone falling down onto her face, causing her nose to radiate a red glow across the room. Rubbing her bruised cheek, she picked up her phone and glances across one of the five-hundred or so posts she had read today. Her eye caught the brightly coloured text dancing across the screen. “You're a jellybean- sweet and unique”. Finally a sincere one, surrounded by “Both of your two faces are so unique”. Seeing this glow in humanity did give her some hope for the future of who knows what would happen. A cry awoke her from her trance, nearly causing her phone to drop out of her hands, again. Which a new found brightness and spring in her step, she raced downstairs trying to hide the glow radiating from her face as she knew there would be some questions - more than she would be willing to answer. And the answers would not be to her parents’ approval. To her immense relief, she wasn’t, yet, a suspect in front of the jury, having holes poked into her alibi and her motives throttled with. They were just glad “she seemed to have had a nice day at school”.
