If both characters are featured, it means that this chapter will be narrated by Death. Now onto the story... I followed the hunter nervously, as we approached the wall that separated the sector of the prey and the city of hunters. The hunter stopped at the gate and pressed a button with their paw, before shooting me a glance and making sure I wouldn't do anything stupid. Like kill their friend. It was a total accident, as we were taught that hunters were immortal and could not be killed, especially by a ribbon. " Yes? Hunter ID please." A voice boomed from a hidden speaker. " Hunter ID 3KU11." The hunter meowed calmly, keeping their gaze trained on me. " Welcome back to the City of Hunters, Skullblossom. The President wishes that your session was extremely enjoyable. " The voice boomed, before a small crack opened. " Get in prey, and don't you dare do anything stupid, or you and your family will pay for it." The hunter hissed, before slipping into the crack. I took a deep breath. First time entering the city, first time. I stepped through. I was greeted by warm light, as I blinked, trying to get used to the brightness. Back in the sector, it was dim and dull, not filled with light. I next noticed the multicoloured world around me, organised buildings that were designed beautifully, and laughter. I was shocked. Little kittens racing around, playing as if they had no care in the world. That was... different. I frowned, remembering my own siblings who learnt to remain in the shadows. These kittens would have definitely gotten killed very quickly if they lived in the sector. "C'mon prey, we do not have all day." The hunter growled, or who I could assume Skullblossom is. "Oh- sorry Skullblossom" I meowed quickly. Something must have set the hunter off because they stopped in their tracks and glared at me. I gulped. "Please don't kill me-" I started but was interrupted. "Don't you dare address me by my name prey, your kind does not deserve to know the names of us hunters." Skullblossom prowled over. "It's like knowing the names of your gods, but not addressing them by their names because you do not deserve to know it, you do not know us personally and it is disrespectful. You lucky to survive an encounter with a hunter and walk out alive." "Okay- I'll call you Hunter then?" I asked cautiously. "Yes, call me that, prey." Skullblossom hissed. It was weird how hunters saw themselves like the prey's gods. But gods were immortal, so how would that explain how I killed Skullblossom's friend? I frowned. "Hurry up before I make you walk. If you could run so fast, why are you frozen now?" I snapped out of my reverie, and saw Skullblossom disappearing around a corner. Not wanting to be surrounded by hunters which would kill me without a second thought, I raced after Skullblossom, who had broke out into a steady run towards a tower. When we reached the tower, Skullblossom approached a guard there. "3KU11 requests a meeting with the President." They meowed calmly. "Is this urgent?" The guard responded. "Yes, it is about how the prey view us." Skullblossom confirmed. "In that case, come right in. I will guide you to the meeting room where you can discuss with the President." Skullblossom started following the guard, and I walked over but a guard leaped over and slashed at my face. I screeched in fear and ducked, the slash missing me narrowly. "Hey!" Skullblossom growled. "That prey is important, a witness." The guard who just attacked me narrowed his eyes. "Are you sure? There has never been a prey in the President's tower." "Yes." Skullblossom hissed. "Or are you questioning my decision?" "Of course not." The guard quickly meowed, backing off. Why did all these guards listen to Skullblossom? Did they have some high rank? I darted after Skullblossom, and walked through halls of paintings and sculptures, all filled with the victories of the hunters and well, the death of prey. I shuddered as we walked by a particularly gruesome one, but at least the door at the hall was right before us. The guard pushed it open and held it open. A huge dome, the roof made out of glass, with a table with many many seats. Along the seats it wrote weird names, perhaps names of cats, but it deemed weird for a mother to call her child "Itikaria". "Well hello." A voice sounded. Low and creepy, sounding like shadows. "Greetings, President." Skullblossom dipped their head in respect, and I quickly copied. "An issue of how the prey view us, I hear." The shadowy voice crept again. "Yes. Turns out the immortals are not immortal." To be cont...
