He realized that if she could escape, maybe he could to. He just needed to talk to his aunt... He asked his mother about it, again to no response. But he kept talking, insisting that if she got past the shield, she must've become a fallen angel by now. It had been almost a month, to be fair. She finally responded, agreeing with him. But she pointed out that there still wasn't away for them to get her back. Unforgettable's last words to his mother that night were: "She's your sister- what do you think she'd do?" (showing a more manipulative side to his personality he likes to keep... hidden.) The next morning, he went downstairs for a little snack, but he realized there was a room that wasn't there before. Inside was a wooden cage, and as he opened the see-through door, he realized that his aunt was in there, tied by chains. But they didn't look like normal chains, as they were growing. On the door was a sign that said not to talk to her, as she had gone mad. But Unforgettable didn't care. He asked his aunt what happened, as he realized her wings had started to decay and fade away, and her halo was a sort of nickel-silver now. It had also started to dissipate, and crack a little. She responded simply: "I broke free." which seemed funny, considering here she was in a cage. "What happened to you?" he asked. She responded. "I finally gathered the strength to exit this society... but your mother was one step ahead of me." Suddenly, the door behind him opened once more. There was his mother, ordering him back to his room furiously. He protested, but quickly relented to his mother's dark-eyed stare. Back in his room, he realized he was in a bit of a prison. Not just a bit, he realized, as he tried to open his door only to see wooden bars. He was under house arrest. FOR TALKING TO HIS AUNT! He broke the side of his wall to his brother's room, who seemed disgusted to see him. His older brother threw a slime ball, at him, which stopped directly in front of him and reformed the wall instantly. Unforgettable wondered where he'd gotten that... regardless, he tried to break out, but he realized the bars were enchanted with something. He tried to go in the cave, but his entire room was blocked off with magic in a square, so even without knowing that that cave was directly under his room, his family had restricted access to it. Months went by, and he still wasn't allowed out. He had one meal a day. He realized his mother hadn't seen him since, not even once. Well, other than the time she told him she never wanted to see him again... he broke into his brother's room again, which wasn't immediately closed like last time. "Hey little bro," his brother said. "Hey?" he responded. His voice seemed dark and broken, as he hadn't talked in so long. "How are you doing in there?" his brother asked. "I'm doing, well, terribly, how about you?" Unforgettable asked. "I looked at my grandfather, and now I'm prohibited to come out of here until tomorrow..." his brother responded. Unforgettable realized that his brother seemed more compassionate now. "What'd grandfather do?" Unforgettable asked. "I'm not sure," his brother responded. "But I do know that he's under room arrest or whatever mother calls it these days." Suddenly his brother gasped. "Mother's coming, I have to fix this. But here, take these," he said, rolling a few slime things at him. "That's disgusting," Unforgettable said. "I used to think you were disgusting, and here we are." That's one thing Unforgettable absolutely adored about his brother- he was honest, too honest. Unforgettable loved it. His brother threw another ball of disgusting slime, which stopped directly at the broken wall, and quickly rebuilt it. He heard his mother open the door next to him. Although she was right there, Unforgettable was very confident she wouldn't want to see him, so... he proceeded to brake open the other side of his room, where his grandfather lived. Everything was perfectly in order, except for one thing- where was his grandfather? He realized that there was a hole in his grandfather's room as well, as if someone had forcefully broken the wood to the outside and flown away as fast as they could. Unforgettable sighed, closed it back up and then went to bed- it was late. The next morning, he didn't want to wake up. He had just awoken from a dream of freedom. How could he have ended up here from just TALKING to his aunt!? Maybe it was a last straw sort of thing... But it wasn't RIGHT!
He sighed and stood up and cooked himself breakfast. His room was large enough to have a mini-kitchen. He was running low on microwave food though. Just a few more weeks and he'd be out. As those few weeks went by, he started skipping eating every other day, and then he ate every 3rd day, and 4th, and then 5th, and 6th, and 7th... And then he was out. He banged on the door for food, but no one ever came. His family was just that cruel... Maybe his brother had some. Of course! Why didn't he think of that sooner? He broke open the wall to his brother's room, but no one was there- just a hole in the wall. Everyone was disappearing, one by one. Suddenly, the back of his wall broke open as well. His brother and his grandfather were just standing there. "We had to come, you were starting to starve," his grandfather said. "How'd you know?" Unforgettable said. "Because we love you, Dusty." Unforgettable hated it when his brother called him that, though not as much now. He ran up to them and just broke. He started crying, and he couldn't stop as he started to take off flying with them. (He'd been practicing flying and fighting in his cage the whole time as well.) They went straight through the shield. "How-" Unforgettable asked. "It's a blood-magic shield, it'll only keep people within our family safe," his grandfather explained. His halo was cracked and silver, and his brother's was just starting to turn silver. His grandfather's left wing was just made of bones. "Why is your left wing just bones and your right wing is normal?" Unforgettable asked. His grandfather sighed. "It's the blood magic shield, once you go through it, if you become a fallen angel, you'll just become this way. It only works once per wing, so if you go through it twice, you'll probably end up dead." "Wait, dead?" Unforgettable asked. "How?" "Well, you see, blood-magic is a very unstable, and if tampered with or touched too much, it can have disastrous results. For instance, you see how the shield we just went through is sort of a dark red now, while when it was originally created it was a sort of light-blue or purple?" "Yeah," Unforgettable said, starting to achieve at least a slight understanding of it. "What's a fallen angel, anyway?" His family had never told him about those. "Angels who reject the box we were placed in." Unforgettable looked about/above his head, and realized his halo was slightly less gold than it used to be. "Oh," he said. "A-am I turning into one?" he asked. "Probably," his brother said. "Oh," Dust responded. "But don't worry, it's not all bad!" His brother said. "The main thing being a fallen angel means is that you're finally FREE!" Dust smiled. "I guess that's true," he said quietly. They all landed on the peak of a nearby mountain. "We're so far now," his grandfather said. "That no magic can track us down while that shield is still up." "That's good, right?" Dust asked. "Yeah," his brother responded for his grandfather. "Well we should make camp for the night." "We just need fire," his grandfather said. "Oh, I have something for that!" Dust said, taking out the stick. His grandfather immediately recognized the sigil on it. Must've been from an Arcane Wizard. "Wait," his grandfather said. CHPT. 3: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/975701352/
