Conan Edogawa is the alias of Shinichi Kudo, the teenage protagonist of the long-running Japanese manga and anime series "Detective Conan" (also known as Case Closed in English). Here’s the short version of his story: Shinichi Kudo is a brilliant 17-year-old high school detective famous for solving difficult cases. One night, while investigating a suspicious group known as the Black Organization, he’s attacked and forced to swallow an experimental poison called APTX 4869. Instead of killing him, the drug unexpectedly shrinks his body to that of a 7-year-old child. To hide his identity from the criminals (and keep loved ones safe), he adopts the fake name “Conan Edogawa” — inspired by mystery authors Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Edogawa Ranpo. While living with his childhood friend Ran Mouri and her detective father, he secretly continues solving cases and trying to bring down the Black Organization so he can return to his true form. In short — Conan Edogawa is a genius detective trapped in a child’s body, which makes for a lot of clever mysteries and comedic situations.
