Halo sat down at the meeting. Roy had begun arguing with Phae already. The noise made her head ache even more. “Roy! For the last time, the lights were off! I didn’t see anything!” Phae explained. Erin was huddled behind her, covering his ears. “WELL, that MEANS it could have been LIAM or YOU,” Roy shouted. “I-I was fixing the lights...!” Liam said defensively. “I GET that. We were busy with that. That means one of us could have SLIPPED OFF to KILL YOEL and NO ONE WOULD HAVE KNOWN.” Halo winced, wishing Roy would quiet down a little. At least it seemed that she hadn’t been seen. “I swear to high heaven Roy, if you keep this up, I’m throwing you in the lava,” Phae said through gritted teeth. 'Hm. That gives me an idea.' 'What is it?' Halo thought. 'Roy is plenty suspicious himself. You could pin the blame on him.' Halo didn’t want to. Roy might be a pain, but he was part of her crew. “And why would you eject me?” Roy asked, glaring at Phae. “Because you could have easily been the murderer too,” Halo blurted out. All eyes turned to her. White, who was watching this all with an exasperated look on his face, raised one eyebrow. “How?” Roy hissed. “As you said, someone could have slipped away while the others were fixing the lights. Plus, you’ve been accusing people left and right,” Halo said. “She makes a good point,” Phae said, shooting daggers at Red with her eyes. “What- look, it’s not me, I swear!” Roy exclaimed. “Exactly what an Imposter would say,” Halo told him, narrowing her eye. Roy began visibly panicking as all eyes turned to him. “Look, I-I know I’ve been accusing people, but i-it's just to try and keep you guys safe!” “And how exactly are you keeping us safe by trying to get us thrown into a pit of molten lava?” Halo questioned. “I believe we may have come to our decision,” Captain White sighed. “As much as it pains me, we should start ejecting people.” With that, everyone began voting. “Guys, please, it’s not me!” Roy pleaded as one by one the crewmates began voting him. Captain White looked at the voting results. “Unfortunately, the crew thinks otherwise,” he said. Everyone except for Roy had voted for him. 'Excellent.' Roy was brought to the edge of the lava pit. Standing on the edge of the metal platform extending out over the searing magma, Roy made one last pathetic attempt to convince the crew to spare his life. “Please, it’s not me!” he cried out. Halo stepped towards him, her eyes cold. Phae turned away, covering her son’s eyes. White had a bit of guilt in his expression. Grabbing Roy’s shoulders, Halo looked him dead in the eye. “Goodbye, Imposter,” she said. Before she pushed him, she opened her mouth into a cruel grin. Before Roy could react, she shoved him off the platform. There was a splash, a scream, and then silence. “...is he gone?” Beau asked. Halo peered down into the lava. Roy’s form seemed to struggle for a few seconds before the surface of the lava went back to normal. “Yes,” she confirmed.
