hi! this is the first chapter of the book i have been writing :) (started on march 2nd 2024) (this was inspired by a true story) (this is not actually true! it takes elements from my life, though) (scroll to the bottom for links) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 'Millie-Anne!' my mother yelled from downstairs. I groaned as I rolled over onto my side. I was laying in bed, trying to get as much rest as I could before I had to get ready for school. I'm Millie-Anne, but I tell my parents to call me Millie. My brother has been calling me Millie. My brother, Zac, is annoying at times, but gives really good advice. He was off to work already, so I got out of bed reluctantly and ambled down the stairs to make myself a bowl of cereal. 'Good morning, Millie-A-' Mum was saying before i cut her off. 'It's Millie, Mum,' I reminded her. 'Everyone at school calls me that!' 'Alright, sweetie,' Mum said, kissing my forehead. At school, there were no popular kids. Unless you counted those girls who rolled up their shorts really high and act popular, but no one in grade 8 is classified 'popular' or 'mean'. I am well known in my grade, being an extrovert. Surprisingly, I haven't been asked out yet, even though a few kids in my class give hints that they like me, including some weird ones (yuck) My best friend, Layla (who is an introvert) is not as well known as me, but people still know us both. As I chomped on my cereal, I started to daydream. About Ian. Ian was a funny guy in my class. I liked him a lot. We aren't really friends, more like...acquaintances. He does show subtle hints he likes me, such as looking at me, teasing me (only a bit!), smiling at me, you know. As an extrovert, you would assume that I would've asked him out already. Layla and I considered the idea, and I was going to next Friday. That may seem like a random day, but that is a fun day where we do not have any classes and no uniform. If we are strolling around outside having fun all day, it is the perfect oppurtunity. I quickly got ready before my bus came. My uniform (ugh), bag, lunch, homework... I rushed out the door to wait for the bus. I'm a girl known for cute hairstyles, and that day I had a high ponytail with two braids. 'Bye, sweetheart!' Mum called out. Dad had already left for work. I waved back at Mum. As the bus chugged up my street, I thought about Ian and how my confession was going to go. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- aaaaaaaaaaaaagh thank you for reading!! this is my first story (on this acc lol) first: this one previous: none next: n/a
