hi! today i will talk abt common, or regular problems therians have!. Species dysphoria: Species dysphoria, also known as species identity disorder, is a term used to describe the feeling of a disconnect between one's perceived or desired species and their biological species. It is not recognized as a legitimate psychological or medical condition by mainstream medical and psychological organizations, such as the American Psychiatric Association or the World Health Organization. While some individuals may identify with non-human species, such as animals or mythical creatures, it is important to approach these experiences with empathy and understanding. However, it's essential to seek support from mental health professionals who can provide appropriate guidance and support. Shifts: Shift, shifts, or shifting are the terms used for when Therianthropes have experiences that cause them to feel more like their Theriotype in a non-physical manner. Shifts are usually temporary, but some Therians have reported feeling constant shifts, most commonly phantom shifts. However, having shifts is not required to identify as a Therianthrope. Also, a person does not need to experience every type of shift to be a Therian. Some Therians may only ever experience one type of shift throughout their life. therian (just incase) :Spiritually, psychologically, and emotionally, they relate to the essence and behaviors of this animal, even though they don’t have the physiology to match. Oftentimes, therians feel most like themselves when they engage in specific activities this animal would do. polytherian: Polytherians is the current term for Therianthrope who identify with more than one species of nonhuman animal. Poly is a prefix meaning "many", "several" or "multiple". Individuals with a great number of non-human identities may be confusing spirit guides as theriotypes.
If there is anything else, lmk and I will add it ^^, hoped this help!
