CHAPTER 1: Diagon Alley September 1, 1991 Dear Diary, Today I get to go to Diagon Alley to get everything for Hogwarts! I got my acceptence letter a few days ago, and my mother taught me everything there is to know about the magical school. I already know the basic spells, like Wingardium Leviosa and Repero, but I’m stillneedthe things to actually perform the spells. I don’t even have a wand yet! The most exctiting thing is, though, that Harry Potter is in my year! -Elizabeth Anne-Aria-Jane-Rose Sinclair “Mother! Where’s the floo powder?!” I yelled up the stairs as I ran towards the fireplace. “Lizzie! I’m trying to find it! Just wait a moment and I’ll be ready!” I sighed. Mother always tells me to ‘Wait a moment and she’ll be ready!’ “Well, you better be soon!” I called back. Finally, my mother came down the stairs, dressed in a black silk robe. Ever since my dad died it’s all she ever wears. “Here’s the floo,” She said, handing me a bag of silver powder. “once your in the fireplace, throw it in the air and say, ‘Diagon Alley.” I nodded. “Diagon Alley!” I said clearly as I threw the powder in the air and vanished away. “Wow,” I breathed as I looked around in awe. I’d never seen witches and wizards other than my mother and father at all, and this place had hundreds. Thousands, I daresay. “Mother, may I go to. . .” I unfolded the note of the compolsury suppplies that hadbeen enclosed in the Hogwarts letter and read the first sentence. “. . . Ollivanders?” “Yes, of course, dear!” My mother told me. “Now, I might head of for some butterbeer. . .” As my mother scurried away, yelling “Meet me at Platform 9 ¾!” behind her shoulder. I turned around to realise that Ollivanders was in fact the store behind me. I smiled, and entered the store. The first thing I saw was a boy that was small and skinny, with a thin face and knobbly knees, wearing round, black Windsor glasses. Oh, did I say saw him? I meant bumped into him. “Oh, goodness!” I said, as we fell over each other. “I’m so very sorry!” He took my hand and looked up at me, and for a second our eyes met. I stared into his green eyes, and then realised it was rude. I pulled him up and smiled. He smiled back for a second, and then scurried away. I wondered what that was all about, but walked inside the store and looked around. The walls were covered with shelves filled with boxes of wands, and an old man from behind the desk smiled at me strangely. I wondered what that was about and- “11 inches, Holly wood, Pheonix core,” The man said, using his wand to pick up a box and floating it towards my hands. “A lucky wand, that is. In fact, the young man that came before you had the same one.” I just stared at him as I walked towards the counter, felt my pockets and took out a few galloens, left them on the table, picked up the box, and left. That guy seemed strange, yet he had a lovely touch of care and kindness to him. I took some of the leftover floor powder from my pocket and went to the fireplace that we came by. This time, my mother was there waiting for me, and together, we said, “Kings Cross Station!”
Thanks to @Novanuhea123 for giving me the idea to write a fanfic! PS: fixed all the spelling and grammar mistakes in this chapter! I think.
