━━━ World of the Arcane In story of WotA takes place inside the Kingdom of Aaestrion. The Kingdom is ruled by the Monarchy Black, an old family partially responsible for the spreading of magic blood throughout the Kingdom, with many of the Kingdom's residents being distant relatives of royalty. They are a very well-respected monarchy throughout the Kingdom, despite some prejudiced groups people disliking them like them because of some loose, unspecific reasoning. The Monarchy Black has not done anything bad in their history of ruling. : In the Kingdom of Aaestrion, there are no cars or phones or any machines that use a lot of electricity, but there are steam trains, automatic lights powered through magic. Horse-drawn carriages and farms are common in villages outside of Aurum, and are still very important for transportation and food sources throughout the Kingdom. Clothing is pretty advanced, with tunics and pants and sturdy shoes existing. Traditionally boots, light footwear, and dress shoes are worn by everyone. And the Kingdom currency is Boons, a small metal coin with the Monarchy Black crest-- a __. ━━ The Villages Notable Villages: ||||| Moorone Town [west]: Known for being close to the ocean and Aurum, markets, glass art and large Path User population |||| Niru Village [east]: Known for large mines, blacksmiths and lakes ||| Dales Town [WAY north]: Known for colder climate, potatoes and fish markets || Knowles Village [south]: Known for its humid climate, hospitable people, deep woods and great food | St. Maclin Town [southeast]: Known for hunters, abundant forests and horse ranges There are many, MANY villages in the Kingdom. The western villages are the most populated however, because it's near water and Aurum. Steam Trains connect the major villages of Aaestrion and Aurum together, with a few stops in distant villages or settlements. Living in a village makes a comfortable life. Many villages work around being on farmland, or any profitable occupation. The people there are always busy doing something, and something for the good of the people around them. ━━ Aurum, City of Magic Aurum is the city of Magic for many reasons. The Monarchy Black castle, the architecture, and the House of Prestige are all good reasons. Scientific development shouldn't be other looked, either; modern medical knowledge has its roots in Aurum. The city is beautiful. The outer ring of streets are filled with markets and shops, and the further you travel to the center of Aurum, you get to see museums, apartment complexes, and very soon, the majestic House of Prestige near the Monarchy's Castle. The architecture is mesmerizing-- symmetrical roads lined with tall buildings and intricate windows and doors. On the inside of these buildings, you'll find spiral staircases and marble floors. Glass sculptures are common in Aurum, because light-affected art was put into the mainstream because Path magic. The plethora of white buildings and glass make the city very bright and pure-feeling. Only the Black royal family, nobles, students at the House of Prestige, Archangels, and a handful of kingdom citizens live here, but anyone is allowed in Aurum. ━━ House of Prestige The House of Prestige is an invite-only school, and the only one that teaches Path Magic. It was built by the Monarchy Black and is funded by them till this day. It's a very old school and is known for putting out prestigious students called Harbingers, who's social status is akin to that of a noble. The House of Prestige invites people from all over the Kingdom. Most students are brought to and from the House on train, but some request to stay in one of the many dormitories there on campus. Classes are very difficult and most of the students are older teenagers to grown adults, human and ghoul. ━━ Castle of Monarchy Black The Castle of Monarchy Black is protected. And aside from a select few nobles, select Path Users, and a handful of nobles, no one sees what goes on behind them. ━━ The Pavilion The Pavilion is the most popular location in the entire kingdom because of its political importance. Located in Niru Village, it's a wonderfully designed open Pavilion made out of marble and is where many people group up to discuss kingdom-wide problems.
