So as most of you know, gwdfi (Girls Who Don’t Fit In) is a huge online studio originally intended for girls which has now extended to all genders. I’ve been a member of gwdfi for like 2-3 years now and I’ve always liked that it’s a place where I can come to vent and talk abt my problems and just be silly. But recently I’ve come to realize that gwdfi has quite a few problems. First, is the majority mindset problem. Because gwdfi is a place for everyone with all types of opinions, genders, religions and such. I’ve seen quite a bit of bias against anyone who doesn’t exactly agree with these types of sensitive subjects. And yes, if somebody is actively hating then we should make sure they don’t but just disagreeing should be fine. But a lot of people get shunned or harassed simply for saying “I don’t agree with this and this”. That is unacceptable and it makes me wonder why no one does anything about it. We are all people and we have a different range of ideas, opinions and views. We can’t all agree but we need to accept our differences and respect each other. Another thing I’ve noticed is that certain people seem to get away with more whether because of health issues or personal relationships with managers. That needs to stop. I’m not going to call anyone out but that is not fair to anyone. Moving on, I’ve seen quite a few people talking about how there seems to be a preference for the more popular people and others who aren’t get ignored. I’ve seen this happen a lot, especially with trends. And don’t forget vents. If someone who is quite popular says something like “I feel sad” everyone will reply saying “omg I’m so sorry what’s going on can I help you in any way?” But if someone who isn’t as popular were to say that it would mostly get ignored. And I’m not gonna pretend to be a saint, because I’m not. I’m probably what most would describe as somewhat popular in gwdfi so I notice too that I get more replies than others. As a result, a lot of people have left. Not that any of us have noticed. We also need to keep in mind that we can’t change every single person in gwdfi to accommodate whatever change we are working towards. That’s literally impossible. What we can do is change ourselves.
