Click the sides to cycle through 8 color illusions. The statement under each image is true, but don't take my word for it - go inside and examine the colors yourself :)
◉ ◉ ◉ Notes ◉ ◉ ◉ These images are examples of color constancy, which is a feature in human color perception. This enables us to identify the same color in varying illumination conditions. Because of this, you can make a completely desaturated gray appear to be various fully saturated colors by creating surroundings with visual cues suggesting particular illumination conditions. Although the illustrations appear to be covered by semi-transparent colored rectangles, there is actually no transparency used in any of the images. Go inside and remove the colored rectangles and you'll see. All the other illustrations are from the Scratch library. Thanks to professor Akiyoshi Kitaoka for the inspiration. This project wasn't directly inspired by his images - it sprang out of the "Infinity Color FX FUN!" project - but I have seen them several times in the past, so they have definitely influenced me in some degree. Also, I must admit that his illusions are way more powerful than mine, and very creative too: https://www.psy.ritsumei.ac.jp/akitaoka/colorconstancy6e.html
