“Your Fate has been Decided” In Life Everest used to live at the base of a mountain that shared the same name as her. She didn’t meet other dogs often, but was very close with her family and didn’t mind too much, though she often thought about what her friends and family might look like in the future. While playing outside her den one day she met a pair of hikers looking to climb to the top of the mountain. She quickly became friends with the two and joined them on the adventure. After a few hours of travel they were finally starting to make progress. The snow flared into a blizzard, halting any further exploration. Everest’s new friends decided to play a prank on her; one that would prove fatal. They hid away from Everest, who couldn’t see them in the snow. As she looked for them the blizzard got worse. Everest froze to death later that night, unable to find what she thought were her friends. In Death Everest after years of sadness from her betrayal, Everest became angry, wanting vengeance on those who hurt her. As time went by more and more hikers wanted to climb the treacherous mountain. Many of which got lost, much like she did. In anger, Everest started to decide these people’s fates by judging their actions, rather than helping them regardless. This would’ve been alright if it weren’t for how Everest judged them. Instead of seeing emotions and actions as many shades of gray she saw them as black and white, turning away hikers who had cheated on their math test in third grade but were otherwise good people, for example. Everest hopes to someday meet with those who abandoned her, to make them see what they’ve done, but that will never happen as they passed away while looking for her. Someday Everest might overcome her grief and anger and finally move on, or maybe she will haunt the mountains forever, only time will tell. Design Changes In life she looked very similar to the design from the DTA, the only changes were these: - her eyes have a dark sclera, and a dark brown, almost black iris. Her brother teased her for this calling her “soulless,” though he would stop as soon as she would start to chase him; he didn’t actually think she looked soulless, he often just wanted to play - She collected feathers and flowers she deemed pretty, instead of them only being behind her neck, they are all over her back, tail, and anywhere else she could keep them. In death her design changes quite a bit, here are the changes: - Her shoulder fur turned to the wings of a crow symbolizing death, which she now partially controls. - She still has her feathers, but they now carry a new meaning; as much as she controls death, she also controls life, which cranes, such as the whooping crane, and bluebirds, such as the mountain bluebird both represent. - Her eyes change color often, red and orange when she judges a hiker negatively, blue and green when she judges positively, a blank white and gray during the judgment process, and completely black when she’s alone. She still has dark sclera; just like in life. - the ground she walks on turns to ice, as her spirit is freezing cold. Likes - Iced Coffee - Summer - Family - Feathers - Flowers - Cozy Sweaters and blankets Dislikes - Cold weather - Winter - Pranks - Liars - Hiking - Mean people/dogs - regular coffee ( it burns her mouth sometimes and she hates that, and doesn’t think it tastes very good either) TLDR Doggo who likes iced coffee freezes and now seeks vengeance. Notes - I made two versions as I was worried I changed the design too much - I thought up the backstory while drawing. - I took several breaks while drawing, causing it to take a few days. - I was originally going to do lava-lamp tail, but I couldn’t think of a story for them, so I scraped it. - Everest was originally going to be able to control solar eclipses too, but I couldn’t figure out how to write it into her story. Thanks for reading all of that, I know it’s a lot. Anyway, that’s it for now, see you later! If you read all of this, comment “Iced Coffee” I don’t know why, but I think that’ll be funny. Okay, goodbye for real now!
Thank you to @spacemars554 and @-fallen-star- if it weren’t for you I wouldn’t of drawn this, or came up with that story, so, once again, thank you so much!
