━━━ Microcephals (Micro-sef-al): Arcane Creature Microcephal is are a species of micro squid which doesn't live in water, but on land. It is the quintessence of how magic mingles with biology. Microcephal are floating, grayish squid with a glowing purple core and tiny curled tentacles. They're maybe three times the size of a raindrop. Microcephal lives in humid locations close to water, and often float around in the air during the day before retreating underwater at night. Microcephal are neutral creatures. They mingle around places of water; fountains, lakes, ponds, and so on. But they will sometimes wander down streets or into homes. When they feel threatened, they will attack. Microcephals are known for their burning seawater attacks, which burn like a weak acid on contact. But thankfully, because they are so small and have a sensitive nervous system, one strong hit will be enough to stun and deter them from attacking. It's the outcome of a rogue experiment with Path magic-- a creature of... mystic but adorable proportions. There are currently only a handful of these hybrid animals in the Kingdom; dragon cats are also immortal and cannot age (no one can figure out why; one of the many mysteries regarding these utterly baffling animals). Draco feles have the tail, wings, and eyes of a dragon. And the ears, body, face, and paws of a cat. The anatomy of the dragon cat is perplexing, because it's also capable of breathing fire. However, its many medical problems make it dependent of human care. Notably, it has an excess of mucus in its lungs, making it hard for the species to breathe fire like normal. People are free to adopt a Draco feles to prevent the species from going extinct. And because of its undeniable cuteness and innocence, it makes caring for this animal much more bearable. And sprouting out from under their exoskeletons are flowers and poisonous vines. Ground Blooms roam underground all around the Kingdom and borrow in packs of 4 to 10. This large group size and their destructive nature make them a natural pest; they feed on the roots of plants (most of which humans eat). They’re known to destroy farms and cause trees to collapse. A tip for hunters: Ground Blooms can be drawn out by offering sweet-smelling stuff outside of their burrows. Do not hunt during the day because they’re inherently angry and aggressive creatures making them difficult to hunt. Wait for nightfall where they calm down and are about to sleep; the sweet smell will still draw them out. [] ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ Finned Tadpoles - Arcane Creature Finned Tadpoles are commonly seen as a food around the Kingdom. Found flowing in rivers by the hundreds, finned tadpoles are no different than regular tadpoles, except for their unique variety of colors. When collecting finned tadpoles, they can be lured close to the shore by music, where they can then be collected in thin mesh nets. Finned tadpoles can also be found young and be kept as pets, but despite being adorable creatures, they can be quite cunning. There are many claims that these aquatic creatures have escaped their glass enclosures and returning to rivers. [] ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ Atra Caligo (Black Mist) - Arcane Creature Atra Caligo's main habitat is the forest and is easily mistaken for normal fog. This creature is an easily scared thing, and as a method of self-protection, it will show your literal nightmares once you're surrounded. The best way to avoid the fog is a gasmask-- or just avoid it entirely. The Ground Blooms love being within the dark veil of the Atra Caligo, despite being things and not a place. But while Ground blooms stay in their respective borrows, Atra Caligos move every now and then. [] ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ | Links : Monster Compendium : Main Studio ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━ ━━━
