cₕₐₚₜₑᵣ ₃ "...A-Asher...?" I half-ask, half-whisper. Asher sits bolt upright. "I'm fine! Y'know, wholesome, Nutella-like fine!" my friend declares. "I remember now! I subdued the Sunstar pearl and it gave me a new Pyro Sphere power!" he continues. "And it's solar beams!" I smile inside my heart. Actually, if I smiled inside my heart, I would have suffered severe heart damage. I hold my spirit talent up and look at the other pearl, the blue one. And the mist snake rushes towards the orb. It tries to bite the pearl with its fangs but soon realises the strength of its spikes. Holding my power there, I spin around and take out a few of my paw-swords. They're about an inch long and razor sharp. I launch them while dodging a spike attack. The Sunstar pearl rolls back, having a bit of its outer covering sliced off. I flip neatly onto my feet. ~I'm not having any luck with this one,~ I think, disappointment scribbled across my face. I hear a loud cracking sound and a branch falls onto the Sunstar pearl. Then I accidentally step onto it. And a blue shard hovers above the pearl. Asher nearly dies laughing behind me. I touch the shard and immediately go invisible. I wake up in a cave five minutes later. Asher sits on a rock covered in fern fronds impatiently and somebody I don't know is holding a pen and drawing on paper. My friend sees me wake up. "If luck could kill, the whole world would have gone extinct, Eclypse," He flashed a wry smile. ~And I cease to exist,~ I think. A tree falls down blocking the entrance. The mysterious figure in the corner strikes a dramatic pose and whips out a moon blade with an UNO reverse symbol carved in it. I nearly choke myself. "UNO REVERSE!" she yells. The blade flies off and cuts a way out. "How did I even get here? Also who are you?" I ask quietly. "I'm Crescent. I took refuge here after I was separated from my parents 2 days ago," Crescent introduced herself. "I was looking for food when I came across you two, so, I thought, hey, maybe I might enjoy some company. So yeah," she explained, her gaze flitting across Asher and I, then resting on my friend for a moment. Asher quickly looks down, blushing. I notice this. REHEHEHEHEHEHE. "So, um maybe, we should look for water?" he suggested. Crescent nodded. I shrugged and went with them outside. cₕₐₚₜₑᵣ ₄ After finding a small stream, I take out a tumbler from a satchel I grabbed from my house earlier and collect some water. "I think that's enough, Eclypse," Crescent says, holding up a canteen full of liquid. I see that Asher did the same too. A dark brown-and-purple blur whizzed past me. "What was that?" I instinctively say, swiveling my head around. Zip. The blur came to a stop in front of us. It was some kind of shadow electric tree or something. It let loose a huge burst of electricity, throwing us all back. "Do ya know what that thing is?" I whisper. Both of them shake their heads. The tree extended its roots, absorbing the earth and the plants and all the things in a wide radius around it. "It's absorbing... the island?!" Crescent gasped. Her blade tried to cut off the tree's branches but was repelled quickly and she struggled to balance (failing). "I think... WE SHOULD ESCAPE!!!!!!!!" Asher shouted, helping Crescent get up. The three of us bolted back to the safety of the cave, the tree moving around and destroying everything around it. I see a silvery glow coming from inside the tree "Hey guys, I think there's someone stuck in there," Crescent pointed to the light. Asher turned his head around. "You're maybe-probably-definitely right. We've got to get her out of there!" He shot two sunbeams from his eyes at the tree. The tree shuddered and spat a body out. "Is she still alive?" I ask. Crescent checks her pulse. "Yeah. Thank the holy power of the Uno Reverse Card." Now Crescent moves out of the way so Asher and I can get a look at her. She's wearing a black top hat and some kind of staff is lying beside her. She sat up abruptly. "I'm a they, not a she,"
