Chapter One - Hidden Away I saw her leave. Lils left, and now me and Yates are alone. Crys is in her room, so is Mum. They won’t come out. Me and Yates are alone. Silent tears slipped down my face as I pushed past my friends. “Aust! Austin! Wait, Aust, we can he-” Was what they said before I slammed the castle doors in their faces. I ran to the kitchen, pulling a knife out of the cutlery drawer and ran back to my room. “Aust…” Yates said sadly as I rushed past her. Sure, I was younger than her, but sometimes I felt like the oldest of us four, carrying a ton of weight on my shoulders. I ignored her, pushing open the door to my room and locking it as I closed it. I looked at myself in the mirror, taking in my fluffy white hair and bright blue eyes. I looked a lot like Crystal, but my friends sometimes jokingly asked if Yates and I were twins. I shakily lifted the knife to my wrists, making deep cuts that went all the way around on both hands. I gritted my teeth with pain, tears splashing onto the freshly made cuts. I brought the knife to my jaw, dragging the tip over my smooth skin. The blood splashed onto my tunic, staining the soft white satin with maroon. My bathroom floor became covered in the sticky red liquid. My clothes were now ruined, I knew that much. If Lillian saw me, I think she’d cry. I ran out my door, making sure Yates wasn’t near to see me. I left the knife in the hallway, for some butler to find. As I walked out the door, I sang a song I knew dad would like if he could hear me. “I hope you hit those gold streets on two wheels, I hope your mansion in the sky's got a ten-acre field. With some mud and some hubs you can lock in, make some thunder, make ‘em wonder how you got in! Hide your beer, hide you clear from the man upstairs, crank it loud, hold it don ‘til I get there, and when I do I hope you got some new stories to tell, ‘til then, give heaven some hell,” The lyrics of the song brought tears to my eyes, and so they fell, racking my body with sobs. Then Ajax came, and he took me to the Earth Kingdom. And that’s where I spent a couple months of my life.
