Rein walked down the street, making sure that no one saw him. Thank the gods he could use the mist. And thank the gods he was now immortal. It seemed as if nothing could stop this great, but bold, day. He looked both ways, and made sure that no one was looking. Thankfully, no one could see him with the mist. He started to sprint when he saw a girl, about the age of six, walking by herself. He lowered the mist, and walked up to the girl. He looked her over, and saw that she was bruised and dirty. Rein squatted, and asked softly, "Are you lost?" The girl looked at him, and he saw her big red eyes that were dull. He looked her in the eye, and waited for an answer. After a couple of minutes, he got a response. "Yes, step father kicked me out," the girl said softly. "Step father doesn't like me. He never has." He looked at her, and realized that her eyes weren't red, but a really dark brown that somehow looked red. "Do you know who your father is?" After giving him the look, she got a thoughtful look. The look his father had gotten when Rein was eleven, and had just learned about his father. And that's when he knew. This was his little sister. Rein cleared his throat after a moment, and said, "I can take a guess if you don't know." The girl looked at him, and said, "My name is Themis, and my father is Thanatos, god-" "Of the d3@d," Rein finished with a small smile. "That's my father too." She looked down and sighed. After a moment of silence, she looked back up at him. "Really? I thought I was-" "His only child?" Rein said with a laugh. "Same here." For some reason, Rein realized he was finishing his little sister's sentences, and he didn't know how he felt about that. "But we have each other, and that's whats important." She shrugged, and said, "I guess. You must be Rein." He raised an eyebrow. *How'd she guess? Did father mention me? Who mentioned me to her?* He thought quickly. She saw the expression on his face, and said, "Father's come to me in dreams, and said that a seventeen year old, a powerful demigod, was going to cross my path soon." "Did he say anything about a quest?" Rein found himself asking before he could stop himself. She nodded, and he cursed under his breath. "I'm assuming you were told to help me." He got another nod, and sighed. "Come on, and we can get you cleaned up." Themis stood up, and followed Rein to the nearest building. He bought her some new clothes, and some bandages to help her. She got changed and put the bandages on, and said, "You're lucky my step-father kicked me out. If he didn't, then you would be in prison." Rein shrugged, and said, "At least you had someone who was willing to care for you." His sister looked at him, and asked, "What do you mean?" He shook his head, and said, "Come on, we have to head further down south." Rein turned to her, and asked, "Do you know how to shadow travel yet?" She raised an eyebrow, and he almost laughed. She reacted just like his mother would've, had his father not taken her to the underworld. "Nevermind, I'll teach you when we're older, back at camp." "Camp?" Rein swore. Man, he wasn't used to talking to the newbies about camp. He had only gotten there a couple of days ago, so he didn't really know a lot about it. "I'll tell you later." Themis nodded, and took his hand before he could protest. Rein hated contact with people, especially girls, and most people respected that. The one person that didn't respect it was standing beside him. She looked up at him, and said, "Then you can shadow teleport both of us wherever we need to go, right?" Rein rolled his eyes after giving a nod. He sighed, and took a deep breath. He closed his eyes, and thought of Houston, Texas. Why he thought of Houston specifically, he didn't know. But that's where they went. After a moment, like dirt, and that's when he knew he got them there safely. He fell to the ground, and felt his sister's tiny fingers pushed against his pulse. He heard her sigh with relief, and felt her put a hand on his wrist. He kept his eyes closed, and fell asleep. His dream self opened their eyes, and he saw a man talking to a black void. "The son of d3 is approaching my Lord." Rein froze, and looked around. It looked like he was in an underground cave. The man standing in front of him was familiar to Rein, and he didn't know why until he turned around. It was James Sorani, his Mythology and Legends teacher. Mr.Sorani smiled at him, and said, "Hello, Rein." Rein was too shocked to reply, or give any reaction. He noticed Rein's reaction and said, "Is it really that surprising?" Rein shook his head, and thought to himself, *When you think about it, no, it's not.* Mr.Sorani continued to smile at him, and asked, "And how's the little sister?" Rein froze again. *How could he possibly know about that?* He didn't answer. He was too busy trying to figure out how Sorani knew about Themis.
"You've met Themis, right?" Mr.Sorani asked after ticking his head to the right. Rein gave a short nod, and got a nod of approval back from his old teacher. Did Rein care for Sorani's approval? Not anymore. But something in him made him relax with Sorani's approval. He smiled at Mr.Sorani, and said, "Just met her an hour before I fell asleep." "And what do you think of your sister?" "She's tiny, but seems cool," Rein replied with a small smile. He felt like a weight was lifted off his chest, and he sighed with relief. He didn't know why he felt this way though. "This is Lord Chaos," James said, pointing to the black void. "He wants help raising h3|| in the mortal world." Rein froze, and felt someone shaking him. James looked him in the eye, and said, "You'll see him again, don't worry." Then, his actual eyes opened, and he saw Themis shaking him hard. "Ok, ok, I'm awake," He complained. He looked at her face, and saw the surprised expression. "Guess I forgot to mention I sleep lightly," Rein said with a laugh. Themis rolled her eyes, and said, "We have to get out of here."
