★ Tunnel of Dreams: 29 days later °`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°` Thunk. Clunk. Thunk. Clunk. Will opened his eyes, barely giving a start as he woke up. By now, he was used to this dream. Nearly every night it came, same as ever, repeating day after day. During the daytime he often found himself pondering over what it could mean, but had to stop himself lest Elizabeth found out. Will hadn't told anyone about his dreams, and the last person that he wanted to know was his wife. They had just been reunited after years long absence, they had finally spent more than just a single day every ten years together... And now Will's premonitions might force them to be apart again. No. No, they weren't premonitions- Davy Jones was gone. He has no connection to the Dutchman anymore. Those days of pirating were over. Will sighed, barely registering the fact that he had gotten out of bed and was now standing outside, overlooking the sea. He heard a pair of muffled footsteps from behind, heading towards him. He turned to see Elizabeth several steps behind him. "Will? What are you doing here?" She asked, as the wind whipped her hair onto her face. Will smiled faintly. Leave it to Elizabeth to find him absorbed in his thoughts. "It's nothing." He murmured, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. "Let's go back inside, It's freezing out he-" "Will, what's wrong?" Elizabeth interrupted, as if he hadn't spoken at all. She paused. "Have you been having your nightmares again?" She inquired slowly, looking at his slightly startled face, as he dropped his arm. "I haven't been having nightmares." he lied, looking at her straight in the eyes. Elizabeth scoffed. "You've always been a terrible liar." She said, smiling slightly as she remembered all of his failed attempts at conning. "Fine." He remarked, as he looked into her set and determined face. "I've been having these... dreams. Dreams that involve Davy Jones." He said softly, hoping the thing that had been troubling him most hadn't shown on his face. "There's more, isn't there?" Elizabeth said, cupping his face with one of her hands. "Yes." He said, finally giving in. "In these dreams, there's always a sound. Of you. Screaming." he said, as his eyes showed worry as he looked into Elizabeth's. "Elizabeth, I think you die. I think he unalives you." He said, a trace of pleading towards his logic showing in his voice. Elizabeth looked away, no trace of emotion showing. "I've had death threats sent at me before, and I've always came out alive. I'll be fine, Will. Besides, Davy Jones is gone, he has been for some time now... I think it unlikely he'll return." She said carefully, but Will shook his head. "I think these are more than just nightmares, Elizabeth! And I don't..." his voice trailed away. "I don't want to lose you when we just got back together." he said softly. Elizabeth looked at Will and saw his determination for answers about the dreams. "And you want to see if you can stop whatever might happen." She finished. It wasn't a question,it was a statement. "Yes." Will replied. "I was thinking that I could search the Dutchman for clues... and then I'll have to go away for a while." he said bitterly, looking away and across the sea. "You mean we!" Elizabeth said, the fierceness from her youth rising again. "If you're going away, I'm coming with you! Henry and Carina will have to stay, but I'm coming!" she said boldly, feeling her mannerisms from when she was invited to events back at Port Royal coming back. Will looked thoroughly taken aback. "Elizabeth, the reason I'm going away is so that you can't be killed! What if this journey is how it happens?" "And what if me staying here at Shipwreck Cove is how it happens? You can't stop me from coming!" she said, and Will seemed affronted. "Elizabeth, please. Stay here. It's safer here than wherever I'm travelling! I know you can handle yourself," he added, as she showed signs of protesting, "But I think it better that you stay in a place with minimal danger than a place where my nightmares could come true." He finished, and looked at her for a reaction. She looked at him with a blazing look for a moment, but then her face became clear. "Of course." she said unhappily, and Will relaxed. He had finally gotten through to her. "Come on, we'll catch a cold if we stay out here any longer." He said, putting an arm around her waist and steering her back to the house. Elizabeth rested her head on Will's shoulder and her last thought before coming through the doorway was that there was no way she was going to let Will go on a quest without her. Not when it was her own life at the line, and not when they might lose each other yet again. °`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°` ⚔️ Notes: ● I promise things will pick up eventually >:'0 ● Sorry it took so long to post! ● YES THEY LIVE IN SHIPWRECK COVE ● Yes I said unalive instead of you-know-what ● Music is He's A Pirate <3
