Rein picked his sister up so she didn't trip, and felt a punch in his lower back. "LET ME DOWN!" Themis yelled, hitting his back. He grunted, and said, "It's faster this way. Besides, you're making too much noise. He's going to catch up to us." His sister immediately stopped making noises, but continued to hit him. He continued to run fast, not letting his sisters' hits get to him. Maybe he should've shadow traveled, but he wasn't in the mood. Nor was he confident he could right now. For some reason, that dream took a lot of energy out of him. Even now, he was starting to slow down. "You can't run forever, children of d3@th!" A man yelled out. He stopped running, and let his sister down. He looked at her, and said, "Go!" Then, he pushed her in the opposite direction of their pursuers. Themis looked at him, and said, "I'm not leaving you behind! Not when I just met you, Rein." The expression on her face was startling for a six year old, and it made him a little worried. Rein smiled at his younger sister, and hugged her tightly to his chest. Slowly, he set her down, and put a hand on her shoulder. "It's time for you to go, now." Themis looked at Rein, and sighed. "Do I have to go now?" She whined. "D@m/\| it! Yes, you have to go now," Rein said furiously. He pushed her away, and turned around. Out of the corner of his eye, he watched her run away with tears on her face. He shook the image out of his head, and started running toward their pursuer. Hopefully, Rein could distract the person. Rein saw a glimpse of a man with short green hair, and heard a deep laugh. He felt a presence in his body, and slowed down. "You can't run forever, Rein Meleager Thomas," Rein heard in his head. "Not from a god." He froze. How this guy. . .god knew his middle name, he didn't know. Maybe his father had told his friends, or maybe Hades said something. "You can't run from fear, spawn of d3@th," the same voice cackled in his head. Then, he felt the presence leave his body. He started running again when he tripped over something. Rein looked down, and saw a pile of bones. Human bones. He stopped, and shuddered. "Scared?" A man asked from behind him. He realized it was Deimos, and smirked. Yes, Rein was scared. For himself, no. He was being the noble demigod, and fearing for his sister's life. "Why would I be scared of the god of fear?" Rein asked sarcastically. He laughed creepily, and muttered, "No reason to fear fear itself." The god behind him laughed, and said, "You know, I can see why Hades is your father." "He's not," Rein said, turning to face Deimos. Deimos raised an eyebrow, questioning Rein. "I'm the son of Thanatos." The god ticked his head to the side, thinking to himself. After a long moment of looking Rein over, the god smiled. Despite being with the god of fear, Rein allowed a small smile to show. "You really do look like Thanatos, with the dark hair and grey eyes," the god said after a moment. The god had turned around to face the forest. Rein found himself nodding, but he didn't know why. "It's time to go, Rein Meleager Thomas," The god said, turning around with a slight smile. "What about my little sister?" Rein asked, his eyes narrowing. Rein got no answer as Deimos walked closer to him, and grabbed his shoulder. Rein felt his eyes close, but he wasn't tired. His knees buckled, and he fell. He felt Deimos catch him before he touched the ground, and smiled to himself. Thanatos was watching their interaction, and knew at that very moment that Deimos was working with Chaos. Why Deimos was working with Chaos, the god of d3 didn't know, but he intended to find out. He watched the god of fear carry his son into a car. Thanatos noticed that Deimos was using extreme care. Was it to keep Rein from waking up? Or was there something else going on here? Thanatos walked alongside the sidewalk, making sure to keep up with the sleek black car. The car made a sudden stop, and Deimos got out. Thanatos ran to the car, and saw Rein was sleeping peacefully in the car. He moved to tap on the window, when the god of d3 heard someone say, "I knew you'd been following me." Thanatos turned around, and saw Deimos standing behind him. The god of fear was sporting a new look. With green spiky hair and dark grey eyes, he looked kind of good. "What do you want with my son?" He asked after a moment. "None of your business," the god of fear replied with a smirk. Deimos then pushed Thanatos out of the way. Thanatos looked at Deimos, who opened the door and stroked Rein's hair lightly. "Do you have a crush on my son?" Thanatos asked with a laugh. No, this god was too cruel to have a crush on Rein. And who told Deimos about Rein in the first place? It certainly wasn't Thanatos. Maybe Ares said something, or Hades. Deimos looked at him, d3 in the eye, and said, "Even if I did, it doesn't matter." Then, he closed the door, and materialized into the driver's seat. He started the car, and drove away.
Thanatos was too shocked to do anything. His son had been kidnapped by none other than Deimos. And the same god had a crush on his son. In the car, Rein was waking up. Rein looked around, and saw Deimos holding his hand. His eyes widened, and he closed his eyes. He relaxed into his chair, and opened his eyes after a couple of minutes. Deimos glanced at him, and said, "You know, you're very cute when you want to be." Rein blushed lightly, and smiled at the god of fear. Deimos smiled back at him, and squeezed his hand. Even though he first met Deimos a hour or two ago, he still felt that uncertain attraction to him. And Rein was ok with this feeling, since his feelings were returned. That was for sure.
