Dragons are a type of synapsid meaning they are somewhere between reptiles and mammals. They are omnivorous and very intelligent, being able to use simple tools and having a very unique culture. Dragons adults are usually 10 inches tall and 20 inches long. Dragons possess four limbs and lack real wings, instead they possess gliding membranes also known as patagium between their limbs. And while mostly quadrupedal, they can stand on two legs. Dragons have 4 digits per limb, with the forelimbs having 3 fingers and a single "thumb," with each digit having retractable claws. Dragons often sleep hanging upside-down with their prehensile tail. All dragons have 2 horns on the back of their head, which can be in various shapes and sizes, but hatchling start out with tiny nubs. Dragons lack scales and are instead covered in a coat of fur, which comes in various shades and colors, hatchlings start life much fluffier and chubbier then the adults. When a Dragon first hatches, it`s eyes are white, but still possess pupils, they do not gain their eye color until a month after they have been born, of which the color of the eye will reflect the dragons personality, and... their magic, as the magic of a dragon will be the same color as their eyes. Heterochromia is rare but always means that the Dragon will have a split personality, and of course, two eye colors, two magic colors. Magic: Magic. Most dragons can`t do it without proper training and hatchlings need to learn at a young age, so that it is easier. However, some dragons are "gifted," and magic is almost second nature to them. Dragon spells consist mostly of: •Casting small orbs of light from their palms, the same color of the caster`s eyes. •Heating up their palms, able to even cook food, the glow of the heat will be the same color as the caster`s eyes. •Sending a small pulse from their palms that can trigger some plants and animals, the pulse will be the same color as the caster`s eyes. •??? Dragon Culture: Dragon Hatchlings are called Pups. Dragons usually have 4 to 3 letter long Nordic-sounding names, which are given to them a day after they hatch. Dragons are considered adults at age 30, as a healthy adult dragon can live for 300 years before old age finally takes them. Most Dragons speak with a Scottish accent, though some don't. Dragons value serenity, empathy, forgiveness, symbiosis. And they despise wastefulness and egotheism. Dragons have a fairly loose concept of gender and sexuality. Jobs among Dragons who live in villages are as follows. Larger females are commonly leading in both defense and caring for the village`s young. And Smaller females and Males are often tasked with tending to the crops and Moss Moths, construction, teaching magic, aswell as keeping history and events recorded. As dragons have fur they do not require clothing, but often wear scarves, bandanas, shawls, ribbons woven died with paint made from their own saliva and crushed up colorful lichens and from the "clothing," itself made from a special silk that is made by "Moss Moth larvae," which are a domesticated species. They also make rings and necklaces out of gold, silver, and copper, sometimes adorned with small gems. Dragons have a very loose hierarchal system, and are mostly nomadic, sometimes forming permanent settlements with others and building out platforms with sticks and woven Moss Moth silk, the platforms are kept from falling via a type of plant that is balloon-like and very strong, and will live for eons if given enough sunlight, with hairy roots that can just live of morning dew for a year, these are called "Liftbulbs".
