Nix finally fell asleep that night and when she woke up that morning, Jeremy was already up and dressed. "Sleep well?" He asked, his back facing her. "Yeah." Nix said as she yawned. Jeremy was facing the fireplace and there was a small blaze in the fire. "Hey,Jeremy?" "Yeah Nix?" "Where were you yesterday when I was here?" Nix was curious about this boy. " I was working." Jeremy responded. "Working? Where? Aren't you worried someone will notice you're a missing person?" Nix was confused now. " I work at car wash a couple miles outside the forest, and no I'm not worried about people noticing me because I used to live in different state" then he mumbled "Not that anybody from home would really care enough to look for me." Nix got out of bed and walked to Jeremy and patted him on the back. "How long ago did you run away?" Jeremy thought for a moment before he answered "I was 15 when I ran away and I'm 16 now, so maybe around 6 months give or take." "Wow, that's while Jeremy." Nix asked after he got back from a gas station and brought bagels for them both if he was sure he would be fine with her staying. "Yeah, I have room." was his response. Nix asked what they were going to do about the one bed and Jeremy simply said "Follow me." And with that he walked off into the woods.
