One day three negro women were one the side of the road, with a broken-down car. The third gets on the ground, crawls under the car, and tries to fix it. These women’s names were Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson. This is the beginning of a story about science and civil rights. The next day she is accepted as a NASA engineer. On her first day, Kathrine must use the restroom. There are no colored restrooms, so she must walk half a mile to the nearest facility. When she gets back it is late, and she is tired, so she gets coffee. While she pours, and walks back with her coffee, everyone stares. As she finishes her work, a white man dumps a new pile of work on her desk. He says the work in her hands is outdated and that is how quickly things move. The next day, she walks to the cafe, sees the whites only sign, and stops. She must pour coffee from a tea kettle and drink from a can with a plastic handle glued on. New work is dropped off, but over half of it is blacked out. She then holds the blacked-out work to the light and walks over to the chalk board to do the work. After she has left, her boss sees the work, and asks “who’s work is this?” The white man from earlier says “the girls.” The next day, she is called to the office, and her boss asks her if she wants to take a seat, but by his tone, she knows it is required. After a few questions, she is dismissed with all the supplies she needs. A few days later she is allowed into a briefing. It is there that she figures out the coordinates for the GO-NO-GO position. She must use the restroom, and her boss can’t find her. When she gets back, she is reprimanded. She says she used the restroom, and that there are no colored restrooms on the facility. Her boss then walks and rips down all the whites only signs. There Is a computer now and her boss says that they do not need her anymore. She is fired. The next day, they need her to do work again and she says yes. She does the work, and it is correct, so the launch proceeds. Now she has clearance. She was awarded the Presidential Award of Freedom at age 97 and celebrates her 56th anniversary. She died two years ago, In 2020. In conclusion, I would recommend this movie to everyone, and am sure that the people would love it. Negro=Black in Spanish
