The up arrow makes him jump, down arrow makes him crouch, left arrow makes him move left, right arrow makes him move right, "A" makes him throw a fireball, and "B" makes him invisible. Pressing the up arrow and the down arrow causes him to use the pound combo. Overall, if any combinations of buttons that are not specifically coded for are pressed, Kirby will stay in the costume where it was before. If the left and right arrow are pressed at the same time or if the up and down arrows are pressed at the same time, Kirby stays still. If A or B are pressed at the same time as any of the arrow keys, Kirby does not do anything, and if A and B are pressed together then Kirby also stays still as well. The only keys that can be pressed together are the up and left or up and right arrows to make Kirby jump to the left/right and the up and down arrows makes Kirby jump and pound down onto the ground.
