Rubel and Jaco had many problems keeping their relationship unknown however as the weeks passed, as It grew stronger, as Its lust for blood resulting in multiple disappearing only for family members to find their bloody corpse their relationship was soon the least of the two's worries. For it lurked in the shadows, waiting, endlessly waiting for the right moment when, SNAP. You fell into its jaws. And of course it was only a matter of time before the monster struck itself into The Successor's live's. Rubel woke one morning and the very air told her something was wrong. She got up, her arms covered in goosebumps, She walked out into the lobby and instantly stopped. A bloody mass sat in the center of the cavern. Rubel cried out in shock and the others came running. There was Jaco, she sighed in relief, Safar, a weight lifted from her shoulders, and Owen, 'Good' She thought 'her friends were here... but what about their trainers. Almost as if to answer her question Ruby burst out of her room a ball of flame already lit in her hand, Jade came in from the front door she must have been out hunting or building because she was fully dressed and had a solid stone hammer ready at her side. everyone looked at each other Sapphire and Opal. Where were they? To answer the unspoken question an eagle's cry came in with Opal at its heels. Ruby stiffened of all outcomes, of all people, she slowly, as if in a trance, turned to look at the bloody shape. Her pupils went so small they almost disappeared, her mind flashed with memories Sapphire handing her a towel on their first encounter, her smile as she laughed at Droplet for the first time, "No" she said quietly, almost without sound, her lips just moving to form the words, "No" she said again, louder, but not by much. Ruby, instead of flying into a fit like most would have over finding their best, first, and only friend's bloody corpse on the ground, just turned and left. Flame started to follow but stopped to look at the others before, head down, she walked off following Ruby to where ever it was she was going. Safar turned to Owen, "What do we do now?" He just shook his head and said, "I don't know, I really don't know"
