This is a bit of a long read, sorry in advance! . info . Helloo!! My account is currently extremely small and has no reach lol so I’m trying to get myself out there a bit by creating this lil adopt thingy. This is a dta, or draw to adopt, so you just draw the character and the best entry (at least in the opinion of the design’s creator, which in this case is me) wins the character! I’ll get right into the rules and such so you don’t have to hear me ramble about what a dta is anymore, haha- . rules . • No stolen, traced, or otherwise copied art. This also means no bases, even if you made your own - sorry! • If you plan to enter, I want the design in a good home, so please actually use it lol - if you lose interest in it, the next rule will kinda explain what you can and can’t do • You may trade, sell, or otherwise pawn off the character on someone else BUT you must have drawn them at least once first, I don’t want you just straight-up adopting them, not using it at all, and then finding them a new owner lol (entering with the intent to gift to a friend is acceptable, but please ensure that they understand the draw-at-least-once rule!) • Yes, you can anthropomorphize, humanize, change species, make alterations, all that jazz, but keep it at least recognizable to the original design. If you choose to humanize it, please include the feral design as well so it’s not just ‘based off of it’ but actually *is* it yk? • If you enter, PLEASE remix the project unless you are remixing something like an animation meme and thus cannot remix it here, which in that case please make a project remix linking your actual entry. • Don’t put down others or their entries, or yourself and your own entry for that matter - no guilt tripping either, such as saying ‘aw im never gonna win :(‘ or something along those lines, it’ll make me less likely to pick you tbh • You may enter for as many as you’d like, but you can only win one, so keep that in mind. . deadline . There is currently no definitive deadline, but I will likely end it by April 30th (the end of next month), though if I get a lot of entries before then I may end it sooner, so be on the lookout. . designs (but I can’t name my creations properly) . 1. Intergalactic buddy - Just a silly lad, I quite like them 2. Strawberries and cream - I adore this one, it’s simplistic but cute (in my opinion) 3. Moth - This one is mid-tier for my standards, but I like the colors a lot 4. Oceanic charm - Based off of those silly little liquid shaker keychains, I think it turned out pretty decent 5. Sandy shores - Mid-tier again, but I like some of the details 6. Frankenstein plush - I like the concept, but hate how it turned out tbh, I’d let this one go easier than any of the others 7. Forest spirit - I actually love this one, I think it has a lot of opportunity for cool art and lore, so I’d love to see some cool backstories in the entries for them . how can I improve my chances of winning? . Well, other than just drawing the character, I’ll list some things that could quite possibly help you ascend the ranks. • Quality and/or quantity are great! Both show you put in effort into your entry. • Animations are definitely a way to increase your chances, even if you’re not great at it (I’m not very good at it myself). Even if it’s just a PMV (picture motion video) with various panels without animating each scene, it’d still be interesting to get some of their personality and lore out of it. Additionally, it gives you more to draw, and shows more effort. All around, it may take longer than a typical drawing, but it’s definitely worth it if you’re really interested in winning a character. • Write about your character! Give them a name, a gender, a story - bring them to life a little bit, show that you actually have plans for the character instead of letting them sit in storage. That definitely helps me see that you care enough for them to be in the running. Ultimately, none of these will guarantee your spot as the winner of a character, but they will help. Remember these are only tips, you don’t need to use them by any means, these are just some things I thought of that might make things easier. Everything aside, I hope you like these little guys and enjoy drawing them (if you enter, of course).
