[tortured poets department predictions] hello silly people, here i am with my predictions for taylor's new album, the tortured poets department! i thought i'd theorize, and inevitably get all of them wrong. maybe i'll make a part 2 seeing what i got right, but for now lets be delusional! i chose four randoms songs, one from each side, and i'll give my prediction for them! stay tuned for some sillyness! ⠀001. fortnight (feat. post malone) so basically from what i know, a fortnight is two week, or fourteen days, in British terms. we all know mr. joe is a brit, so this song will definitely have something to do with him. a fortnight also can mean a vacations, so my theory on this song is it's going to be about some sort of vacation they took. one idea is that it could be something early on in the realationship, and taylor's looking back on the good old days, or it could be like the last two weeks of their realtionship, and how they tried to salvage it. ⠀002. fresh out the slammer so slammer basically means prision, (and also means a person who deliberately collides with others when slam-dancing) so this song i think will be about right after she and joe broke up. could be something about a rebound, like Matty Healy. that's all I could really think of. ⠀003. loml loml means love of my life. some because have been theorizing this song could be about Travis, but i'm not so sure. it could be, but my other idea is it's going to be about Joe. i think the first two verses of it would be all about how he was the love of her life, have some callbacks to her other joe love songs, but the the bridge and final chorus would be about how he isn't the love of her life, something life 'i told everyone you were the love of my life, but I was wrong', talking about how he really isn't her love, and all the wrong things he did. or it would be about travis just trying to be original, guys. ⠀004. i can do it with a broken heart you know that one time she was singing lover on tour and cried? I was thinking this song could be all about how quickly she had to move on from being hear broken, and how she was automatically on tour and making more music, and how she did all of it with a broken heart. when anyone else is broken up with, we wallow, but Taylor had to work. anyway, I hope y'all enjoyed this, I hope some of them are correct, if not, check back here after the drop and yell at me in the comments <3
