Moon'Paw ushered the yellow tom, leaping off another sun-scorched ledge. Golden'Paw followed after, "I'm coming! I'm Coming!" The two cats danced across the mantles - daring to drop below into Sunshine Valley. The sun is blazing in Greenleaf, and Leaffall is nowhere near. "You know you can't keep up!" Moon'Paw brags as she leaps across to another daring ledge. "Oh yes, I can!" Golden'Paw skipped after her, nearly missing the jump. Scattered rubble skittering beneath his feet. "Whoa- Close one heh!" Golden'Paw chuckled as he quickly got back up the sill. Moon'Paw gave him a stern look of shame, and continued their way back to camp, as Gleam'Clan had always had a knack for climbing difficult terrain! They quickly made it to their clan, the cats welcoming them, but things will change soon. Today is the day things will change. (Scene 2) - Present Moon'Shower sits down in the leaders' den and nobody is home, the flashback of young Moon'Paw and young Golden'Paw fresh. "You... think they are all gone?" Moon'Shower says with a slightly quavering voice, Golden'Rise sitting next to her, licking her cheek, "Yes.. there is nothing we can do now.. They rest with Moonclan now.." The stars seem to glimmer, hope perhaps... but nothing can describe the awful disaster. A memory persisting in their brains, the horror... the shock, the water... all over now though. Moon'Shower sighs, Golden'Rise looking over at her, "It's alright... We'll make it through." Golden'Rise whispers, comforting her as he puts his tail around her. Moon'Shower lets a tear roll down her cheek, and they sit in silence. For as long as they remember... it will never be the same. Never in a million moons will they be able to build back Gleam'Clan? It was all because of the rushing water... the rushing water that came from the ocean, flooding the whole Sunshine Valley. The memory is still fresh as if it was just a day ago, as if they are, and were the only Gleam'Clan members left. "I Miss Mom... Oh Butter'Wing..." Golden'Rise whispers, remembering his mother - her warm smile. "But it's all gone now right?" Moon'Shower shivers with the knowing answer. "Yeah. Yeah, it is..." The incident was fresh, just 5 moons ago... (Scene 3) - Past It was everywhere... water lighting waves... everything. The worst some ever - fear - everything. A memory slinking into our skulls. Mother and kits separated, warriors drowned, dens destroyed, herbs swept away. Nothing could make you forget. Moon'Shower and Golden'Rise remember the horrors of the stormwave. Massive and engulfing the land, nearly any cat survived - you were lucky if you did. Few cats roam on this island, near Sunshine Valley. All the cats here have lost something. Lost something like family or something of importance. Remember... " When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. " - End of Chapter 1
