character lore: violet as a 5 year old starting kindergarten, violet never wanted to talk to anyone. all she wanted to do was read. people often called her the stereotypical name "the quiet kid." violet almost never talked at school, while at home, she loved talking to her parents, her older brother and even her dog. by middle school, she did start talking more and made a couple friends, including jake, josh, olivia, and her best friend, nicole, who was josh's sister. she started developing a crush on josh, who was crushing on a girl named genny, which broke violet's heart because he would often talk about genny to violet. at least violet still had her best friend.. until she didn't. while nicole, violet, and josh were out camping in 12th grade as a celebration for their upcoming graduation, nicole heard a noise in the woods. she started following it, thinking she was with her friend, but violet had stayed back. she hadn't returned that night, and violet and josh were worried. they looked for her the next day, with no luck. about 2 weeks later, violet was watching the news, she saw that nicole had been found in the woods. but she was gone. violet got very depressed and never really recovered. josh: after his sister's death, josh stopped being the nice guy he was. he started shoplifting, partying, and while he was home, he stayed in his room and listened to rock music very loudly. he was really having a rough time, but it was about to get a whole lot rougher. he eventually stopped his rebellious phase, and actually started going to college in 2010 when he was 18. when he was 20, while he was driving home from the library at night because he was studying late for an exam, he stopped was stopped at a stoplight, when suddenly a car zoomed right towards him from the wrong side of the road and hit josh's car at about 200 mph. he instantly fell into a coma, but he just barely survived. it took him almost 6 years to recover from this accident, and finally, in 2018, he was back to normal. he finished college, and graduated in 2020. he started talking to genny again and they got together in march 2022. even though he is fully recovered from the accident, it still haunts him to this day. he often has nightmares about it, and when he does, he is in a terrible mood for the whole day, which has caused anger issues and even depression. if he has a nightmare, he will be angry for the whole day and takes it out on his loved ones, who try to support him.
