Moonpaw was excited to become an apprentice of Jayfeather. She could hardly contain her excitement! But she knew the basic rules of medicine cats and the code by now. “Medicine cats cannot have mates or kits.” She said to herself silently, “Medicine cats have to be loyal to their clan and Starclan only.” Moonpaw wondered why. She decided to ask Jayfeather, her mentor, in the morning. but for tonight, she decided to go out of the medicine den. Moonpaw padded over to the rock where Firestar had sat earlier that day. She padded away from it and then to the apprentice’s den. “H-hi? Who are you?” A greyish she-cat called from the darkness. “Uhm… Liiii-moonpaw” she said remembering her new name “Oh! The new kittypet medicine cat! Cool!” Said the cat “I’m Tinselpaw but I used to be a kittypet too! With the name Ash!” Tinselpaw said. “Cool.” “Could you get jayfeather for me?” asked Tinselpaw “My pad hurts and I can't get up.” “Yeah.” said Moonpaw. “I will.” Moonpaw padded back to the medicine den. “MoOoOnPaAwWwW” Her mentor called to her, yawning. “Yes?” The small apprentice called. “What do you need! you woke me up…” Jayfeather called to her “Uh… some kind of… you.” “There's… only one me…” “I know. Tinselpaw is hurt.” “How?” Jayfeather looked at her. “Her pads hurt and she cant get up” “Sore pads. Mkay.” Jayfeather said. “Chew those dock leaves into a poultice and put them on Tinselpaw’s pads. “Kay,” Said Moonpaw. She took the leaves back to the Warrior apprentice den. “Hey Moonpaw, that you?” Tinselpaw mewed eagerly. “ Yes, and I have herbs,” Moonpaw said soothingly to her new friend. “Great!” “How does it feel?” Asked Moonpaw. “Really bad” Responded Tinselpaw. Moonpaw chewed up the leaves, and gave them to Tinselpaw. “ Gee, thanks Moonpaw! “ Tinselpaw’s eyes glittered. “Just my job! “ Moonpaw said cheerfully.
