UPDATE I GOT OUT FRIDAY MARCH 29TH but the rest of this is js a psa as to whats going on ig - in case you didnt know, i'm currently in the hospital rn ,, and i'm getting tired of telling people why so im just putting it in a project lmbo - i'll probably delete this once i'm out but idk i might need it again sobs - the summary is just for if you dont rlly care that much about what's going on, or you can read on if you want to know more - feel free to ask questions/ask for clarification/etc! this is probably all written badly bc its almost 1am SUMMARY — - i have POTS & i'm currently in the hospital because i went to the emergency room on the 24th and i got admitted because the usual treatment i get, saline via IV, didnt help - if you're religious, prayers would be appreciated, or just send good vibes my way if you aren't BACKGROUND INFO — - i have POTS:: postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. basically my blood pressure is a lot lower than most people's my age, and my heart rate jumps a lot. its been as low as 40 and as high as 140 [ average range is 70-90 ]. there are other symptoms as well but i dont feel like going through them unless asked - symptoms of POTS first started showing up in november, and i went to multiple doctors and finally got a diagnosis in january. - since then, i've been to the emergency several times. once in february, and now 5 times in march - i also have back problems;; i had a stress fracture and now i have scoliosis and spondylolisthesis. i may have to get surgery in the future - we dont know if my back issues are part of this or not, but its good to note anyways RIGHT NOW — - on march 24, i went to the emergency room because my legs were weak; too weak to even stand & walk by myself. [ leg weakness is one of my POTS symptoms ] - i got two bags of saline [ salt water that goes into ur veins via IV, a lot of POTS patients need saline occasionally ] ,but it didnt help, so i got admitted to the hospital - to be admitted means to be moved up to a comfier z bigger, more permanent room. i've been here since then, getting fluids and MRI scans and seeing countless doctors and nurses, et cetera. - as of march 26th at 1am [ when im writing this ] ,, we still dont know why the saline didnt help, or what will help. UPDATE [ march 27 10am ] — - the doctors think that there's nothing physically wrong with me that we dont already know — its just that my brain thinks that everytime i stand up, im going to fall because it did happen a few times - im in physical therapy to basically learn to walk again, using a walker for right now - hopefully i'll get to leave today, but if not then almost certainly tomorrow!
