Moonlight glimmered through the window and cast light into the dark room. Only a single dim candle was lit, casting a warm glow throughout the enclosed space. A badly screwed in lightbulb fell from it's handle and plunged towards the ground. The pressure from it's landing made a loud sound and shards scattered across the floor. A scream was heard from the desk the candle was on. The figure sitting at the chair, staring at the computer, groaned. Their headphones made a slight sound to the zero people that didn't have them on. "NO I'M NOT OKAY, MY POWER WENT OUT AND A LIGHTBULB JUST BROKE?!" The figure screamed. They leaned back so far in their chair that the headphones unplugged from the computer. "My gosh Vex, calm down. The power's out for everyone in the state." A voice in awful quality echoed from the CDWire call. "YEA, SO? I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A CASE! AND NOW I CAN'T WORK ON IT BECAUSE THE POWERS OUT AND NOW THERE'S GLASS ON THE FLOOR AND I KNOW I CAN'T DIE BUT I STILL AND I JUST OH MY GOSH I DON'T-" Vex screamed, their voice echoing through the silent room. Tears came to their eyes and they screamed in fury. "I'm not even gonna say anything. This is your problem Vex.. I mean, you know I was working on that case too, and I'm decently calm." The other voice pointed out, the quality being so awful that it was just barely understandable. "WELL THANKS ZEYPHR, THAT REALLY HELPS!? GO DEAL WITH YOUR STUPID LAB, I DON'T CARE!" They yelled. "Maybe you could use this time to take a shower? Your fur has been stained red for so long, the FBI is gonna catch you at this point if you just stare out the window for too long." Zeyphr teased. You'd be surprised how low quality their microphone was, considering that Zeyphr, more known as Dr. Zephyr, owned a largely known research lab. "I guess you're right." Vex sighed. "I'll see you later, at least the water still works. I'll let you know if I get shocked again." They put their paw on the mouse and moved the cursor towards the disconnect button. "By-" Zeyphr meowed, but was cut off by the CDWire call ending.
