It's official. David Rubenstein, a Baltimore native, has officially became the owner of the Baltimore Orioles after the death of previous owner Peter Angelos died on March 23rd. Reports of Rubenstein interested in buying the team with a group came out last month and was originally planned to be a deal where Rubenstein's group gains ownership over time. But due to the death of Peter Angelos, the Angelos family decided to sell the team. Rubenstein' ownership was voted unanimously as the new owner of the Orioles. This is the 3rd biggest purchase of a baseball team as he bought the team for $1.725 billion.
