Welcome to Nicole: A Picture Story. Space or tap to move on. Please love and favorite! Age 7: Nicole (usually goes by Nikki) is obsessed with space, especially stars. She got her ears pierced at age 5. Though she does not exactly LOVE her glasses, she embraces them. Her dad died before she was born, and her mom is raising her single. Age 8: After being homeschooled since preschool, her mom enrolls her in a private school. Nikki likes wearing uniforms there (white sweaters and red shirts for the girls, white sweaters and blue shirts for the boys), and joins an after-school space club. Everyone thinks her glasses look so cool, so when her mom suggests contacts, Nikki politely declines. Age 9: Nikki has "Sleepover Under the Stars" get-togethers with some of her space club friends (Stella [name is coincidence], Harley, Abe, and Layla) every month, and she gets really close with them. They all dye their hair a different spacey color during one of their sleepovers! Age 10: Nicole moves (with her mom) to Virginia from Vermont, reluctantly leaving her space club friends behind, but she makes a friend in her new home named Everest. They become very close, and bond over their passion (a new passion for Nicole) of bees and pollination. She doesn't enjoy going to public school. Age 11: On turning 11, Nicole decides to look more mature. She wears large earrings, changes her glasses, and wears her hair in buns often. Her hair has grown out and the color got cut off. She learns that Everest is actually an orphan, looking for a family. Age 12: Nicole has a sleepover with Everest and they both bleach their hair! Then they talk about him being an orphan. Nicole has an idea. What if her mom could adopt him? She tells her mother, and she says she'll think about it. A few months later, the adoption process starts. Nicole is so happy, especially for her soon-to-be brother. Age 14: With Everest living with Nicole and her mom full time, the siblings get even closer. But, Nicole is worried when her mom gets engaged. Of course she is happy, but she knows that her life will totally change with Raphael in the picture, though he is very nice. Age 15: Nicole is a flower girl at her mom's wedding, and soon she (her mom) has a baby girl named Francis (that was quick!). Nicole was wrong about her life being drastically different, with Raphael and Belle (his daughter) there, it's almost like when Everest joined their family. Nicole gets new piercings. Age 16: Nicole gets back into her space obsession, and becomes a counselor at a space camp in Washington D.C. along with Everest, though he would be called an enthusiast not an obsessor. Age 18: Nicole moves out of her parents' house into an apartment near Washington D.C., and continues working at the space camp. Everest is going to college for a doctorate in agriculture. Frannie (Francis) follows her half-sister's space obsession and attends the space camp where Nicole works.
