The girl tried to fit in Smiling holding her notebook open Waiting for them to respond Her only source of hearing was ripped away The boy laughing Her only source of talking Thrown into a pond The girl apologized It wasn’t her fault It was his fault The boy grew into a different person Eye contact scared him The past did too They meet again And he realized all she wanted was A friend He introduces her to new people He treats her with respect Then he apologizes He wanted her to forgive him For he had realized his mistakes So he grabs her as she falls And the girl was lifted to his newer self His mistakes dragging him down And when he awakes He calls out her name
