⭑ ⚝ hindu deities namaste friends ! im bacc w a proj on gods and goddesses frm hinduism ! remember ; this proj is for informative purposes only, pls dont take religious stuff too srsly ! les start -> gods ;; 1) lord ganesh - lord ganesh is a elephant-headed god. he is the son of lord shankar and goddess parvati. hindus praise and perform pujas [worship] for lord ganesh before any auspicious occasion. he has a brother named kartikeya. ganesh chaturthi is a popular festival among hindus. this year, ganesh chaturthi is on 7 sept.! 2) lord krishna - krishna [ also known by names like krishna, kanha, gopal etc. ] , is a hindu god. he is one of the avtars [forms] of lord vishnu [lord vishnu is known as the preserver of the universe]. he plays the bansuri [flute] w melodious tunes which is why he is often associated with flutes. his love tales w radha rani since childhood are very famous throughout india. he was born in vrindavan [also known as mathura in uttar pradesh]. he played an extremely pivotal role in the epic, mahabharata. his tales of bravery and kindness are prevalent to hear in many parts of india .. some of his temples u can visit are iskcon [150+ across india and even in places like the usa, ghana, estonia, czech republic etc.] and millions of local temples across India ! 3) lord Brahma - bhagwan Brahma dev (lord Brahma) is a Hindu deity with three heads. he rests on a lotus and is known as ‘the creator of the universe’. 4) lord vishnu - bhagwan vishnu is a Hindu deity who lives deep under the ocean . he is often seen with several ‘shesh naag’ or snakes above his head in pictures. he is known as the ‘preserver of the universe’. it is said that one whole universe emerges and collapses in a blink of his eye ! 5) lord Shankar - also known by names like mahadev and neelkanth, lord Shankar is the the destroyer of the universe. it is believed that he lives in the cold mountains in north india , on the Kailash parvat (Kailash mountain). his wife is goddess Parvati and they have two sons, Ganesh and Kartikeya. ( many assume that also had a daughter although I’m not sure abt it! ) goddesses ;; 1) goddess durga - goddess durga is a supreme female deity who is a roop (form) of goddess Parvati. her vaahan (vehicle, as all deities have animals in form of vehicles assigned to them) is a lion. she has k!lled many asurs (demons) such as mahishasur. u can get to know more about it on You.Tube as well! 2) goddess Sarasvati - she is the goddess of wealth, knowledge, art, abundance, music and dance. 3) goddess Lakshmi - she is the goddess of wealth and good fortune. that’s it for this project!! byeee ,, ilysm <3
